Your most disappointing purchase or audition? "you would think at these prices, High- end Audio would be more reliable"I would expect that, not just think it.
High Fidelity Cables CT-1designed by Rick Schultz Hi Albert,I had not checked my agon inbox in awhile, but it is there. I did not see any actual corresponding email sent to my provider, where I check daily, like in past. I might have just missed it. I did get it though and responded.
Anyone into cassettes? I have a 90's vintage Yahama cassette deck on my rig that I use on occasion. Sounds better than ever these days in that my setup is the best I have ever had as well by far.I have not recorded any new casettes since the 80's though when I dabbled w...
How do Ohm Walsh speakers compare to Maggies? Yes, I have if I understand the question correctly.I have found that each has very different dispersion patterns (bidirectional versus pseudo-omni) so not likely exact same configuration will work best for both.
Another CD-Player vs. PC question: "Mapman, just curious, have you had an audiogram test recently?"Yes, have you? That could be why the CDs sound bland to you. They sound fine to me, at least when played on good gear that is working properly.
Your most disappointing purchase or audition? Even God has a few disgruntled customers.....:^)
Hi Fi House liquidation I am interested in how it goes in general with so many items listed at once, including many vaguely described parts and components in some cases.Starting bid prices seem about 50% of going prices new otherwise, which is what the best used stuff ty...
Should you tune room to headphones I'm hoping for a pair of phones that might convince me to ditch all the big expensive gear once and for all, but has not happened yet, and I've heard most of the usual top contenders these days plus many a vintage classic along the way.I have 4 pa...
Room treatments behind or between speakers? Always start with primary reflection points on walls based on listening location/sweet spot, for biggest bang for the buck, and add from there or not with secondary or lower reflection points if needed.
High Fidelity Cables CT-1designed by Rick Schultz Well, according to Ddraudt, in this his only thread, these wires apparently have now changed home audio forever and any system may be lacking in lieu of them.SInce I cannot afford them, with kids in college and such, I might have to find another h...
Should you tune room to headphones Blue,Also keep in mind that wall treatments affect soundstage and imaging as well. They reduce the levels of reflected sound at the higher frequencies, which is often what is needed to some extent. Lower levels of reflected sound is also what one ...
Should you tune room to headphones Blue,Here is approach I would recommend to get everything in order.Good hEadphones like better Grados are a good reference for what is in a recording to hear, ie essentially detail. Each has their own sound though in regards to detail, tonality, d...
Another CD-Player vs. PC question: "Anyone else besides me find CDs to generally sound very generic, bland and extremely uninteresting. I'm referring to out of the box untreated CDs."Thank God, no.
Should you tune room to headphones Blue,Your 5000s have teh 4 3 way level adjustments on each speaker.Setting room size to small and location to free (for lowest low and mid bass levels) might bring the tonal balance to be more like the Grado phones with less bass. I tend to run my...
Should you tune room to headphones Blue,Good headphone sound is certainly a useful reference.Different headphones/lines still still tend to have different sound and tonal balance as well. So there is no absolute reference even there.Room acoustics can certainly be a challenge getti... |
