Has there been any inexpensive item that enhanced your system's sound? Mu metal foil shielding around phono step up ferment about 35 bucks. Auralex subdude isolation platforms under Ohm Walsh speakers about $100. Isoacoustics stands under various small monitors also about $100. The simple Monster power strip my pre...
Synergistic Red Fuse ... Seriously I wonder has anyone ever heard a room done up with synergistic research stuff at a show? Do other rooms manage to compete or sound better in people's assessment? How do they demonstrate the effects of their stuff? Can they switch i...
"Shouty" treble with hi res files HI res format is better no doubt but format does not assure better sound in that bad recordings can still make their way into any good format. So like records CDs tapes radio stations whatever any thing is still possible.
Does the ceiling fan affect the sound? Ok I confirmed a ceiling fan can affect the sound. I listened with fan on and off. I hear the fan when on and don't when off. No doubt It adds a nice breezy texture when on not to mention lots of air. 🤒
Does the ceiling fan affect the sound? It's at least as possible as fuses sounding different probably more so since that air is at least in the signal path unlike most fuses as I understand it. 😖
Determining current flow to install "audiophile" fuses. It's really more aphilosophical question at this point. If one hears it is it real? And what % is due to s fuse? Inquiring minds want to know. 🤑
When is your Hifi good enough? I have currently have 9 different main listening configurations available in my house in most any room (including outside). They are all "good enough" on their own in that I very much enjoy using each as is, but only one is the best among them tha...
When is your Hifi good enough? I agree room is the biggest factor and matching speakers accordingly. Then a well suited amp to drive them and lastly a good quality source which is not hard to find these days, at least with digital. It all works in the end as long as system (incl...
Can anyone help with a load of equipment I have acquired Agree with david99.If you sell yourself, and not familiar with the items, even with Audiogon Blue Book pricing you will need to determine the condition in order to determine the real value. Easiest would be to sell to a trustworthy dealer of high...
Direction of aftermarket fuses (only for believers!) You are welcome. Good luck. " Lesson learned, early adopters (we should have been over that for fuses but obviously we’re not) pay the price/scrutiny. "That is very true. They don’t call it the "bleeding edge" for nothing. :^) Not for the faint o...
"Shouty" treble with hi res files What is your digital source (hardware/software) streaming the high res files and what kind of digital IC from source to DAC?Assuming other source material sounds fine, I'd say DAC and these two things together form the most likely culprits. Coul...
Direction of aftermarket fuses (only for believers!) Geoff, as I read it the Op would appreciate your help if not mine which is fine. Don’t just check out because of me. :^)
Synergistic Red Fuse ... Its true that some tube devices have rep for running tubes harder than others and individual tube life varies so it will vary but still worth noting.I’m on third set of tubes in ARC pre-amp that I’ve had for four or 5 years now. It has 3 tubes in ...
Direction of aftermarket fuses (only for believers!) Jazz, sorry for intruding on your soapbox. Good luck with your endeavors.
Determining current flow to install "audiophile" fuses. I kind of found it amusing, but mostly just lost interest quickly and couldn’t force myself to read the whole thing. Does that make me a bad person?I’m sure some will find it fascinating. Everyone loves a good mystery. |
