Whats on your turntable tonight?
Uberwaltz knows his classic and prog rock. đź‘ŤOne small correction:  “Magic is a Child”.
Klipsch Forte III--Pleasantly Surprised
One thing I noticed when auditioning Forte III is they do recordings no favors. Big difference between good recordings and bad. That’s probably a positive thing in terms of a speakers ability to correctly render a recording. More so than most I wo...
Class-D Audio USA have just released their new GaN amp at the CES
Ah I found the price at the bottom of the article. Starting at ~7k. Much better. Gotta admit though the reviewer lost some credibility with me when he injected the Synergistic Orange Fuses that coincidentally are advertised on the sites main page....
Class-D Audio USA have just released their new GaN amp at the CES
15k? Is it too much to ask the power cord should be away from the switch for that price?Well they are compact for 100w/ch, shiny and kinda look like a tube amp. That will probably help convert some tube amp owners that might not otherwise. I’m sur...
Ohm MicroWalsh Short speakers
Check out z reviews. He raves about  the tall model but not so much the shorts as a main stereo pair for the price . They are too small and will have limited bass I would expect. I’d consider the Micro Walsh talls as the smallest contenders for ma...
Favorite instrument through your favorite speakersi
One gets spoiled with piano on Ohm Walsh speakers.
Smooth sounding integrated
Rogue Sphinx was my second choice but I went with Bel canto C5i first because I wanted to give the latest and greatest modern digital amp technology a shot before relying on more tubes (and less flexibility with digital sources) and have never loo...
Smooth sounding integrated
Bel Canto C5i is smooth and clean  as it gets and might be had used for under $1k.
New Rouge Dragon amplifier
Rogue has a great track record of providing top notch sound for good value.  I'm betting this continues that.
Can you tell me why I didn't like the Reference 3a MM's?
I’ve heard the Fritz off a ~ 10 watt tube  amp at a show. Not efficient but an easy load and they sounded amazingly top notch at moderate volume in a typical size hotel room. One of the best of show. I would love to pick up a pair someday.
Can you tell me why I didn't like the Reference 3a MM's?
Reference 3a seems to not always provide useful sensitivity specs. Small speakers with good bass extension Tend to always not be very efficient. It’s just the law of physics that you need a lot more power to get good extended bass out of a smaller...
Would you donate a dollar to have these Members Review a Product?
If that diverse gang all agree on something there might actually be something to it.
DSP and stores - Anyone else get the feeling they might be sweetening?
No but anything is possible so always best to ask questions.
Love it when it snows
I took logic in college too. Guess what? Logic is an important tool but it’s still totally useless on its own in regards to drawing proper conclusions. You have to feed the logic all the right facts for that. Not incorrect or selective facts for ...
Help me understand John Coltrane .... seriously.
I’m still not a big fan of Bitches Brew,  but at the same time I get why historically it is such a famous landmark recording. Â
