KEF ls50 meta’s are on the way
Quick update:  I’m hearing early  December now.   Dealer finally getting some more concrete delivery dates it seems plus I have seen similar available dates published elsewhere so the wait may soon be over.
What sends shivers down your spine when you play it on your system?
Never realized what a popular work “Lark” is.  I have a version by Previn and the Royal Philharmonic on a Telarc CD I am giving a spin (or more accurately:  streaming)
A blessing? Or a curse?
Anytime one has something that is good it is a blessing and people should be thankful for it.
What is the best audiophile speaker for a tiny square room?
I would love to have a pair of the Tannoy Autograph mini speakers just because they are affordable Tannoys and love the retro look.
Klipsch La Scala 2018 or the Triangle Cello?
I would want a larger room with more distance from listener to speakers for the spread out drivers in a larger tower model like the Cello to integrate well in general.La Scala’s are also not modest in size and like some room to breathe but the dri...
Is it my amp or my speakers?
Assuming all units of model X sound the same is not a safe assumption. Some may operate better than others. Especially older gear and even if work was done on it. Not saying it’s the amp but not possible to rule that out with the limited facts on ...
Class D Technology
I have a 40w/ch $85 Fosi Class D integrated amp with Bluetooth in use that sounds really good driving a vintage pair of Boston A40s. Audiophile worthy even, as long as you don’t ask too much of it. Cleaner/Better sounding than most comparable powe...
Tube-based DACS: Positive? Negative?
Been there, done it. Not a fan.  I liked the tube that sounded the most like my similar SS NOS DAC best so I just cut to the chase.
Class D Technology
That will be interesting.
*WHITE PAPER* The Sound of Music - How & Why the Speaker Cable Matters
Why do some people make it out to be so hard to get good sound? It’s really not. The core knowledge base needed is really not that big and is very well documented. The rest is mostly personal preference. Good sounding gear is plentiful and need no...
Class D Technology
Hadn’t thought of DSonic in a while but looks like they are still offering a lot of bang for the buck.Nice website.....lots of useful specs and measurements. What Class D modules do they use these days?
Vintage integrated amp vs newer?
Most older amps especially receivers including even the Sansui have limited power supplies in order to fit so much circuitry into the box without severe noise issues. Compare to a current day Bel Canto c5i all digital integrated amp or similar c7r...
Ohm Walsh F Hope of Resurrection
Yep agree, can’t sacrifice quality, but when it comes to symphony orchestras, big bands, and the like, it takes more than average muscle as well to deliver the goods at home in a manner that at least somewhat resembles what one would hear live. Es...
Ohm Walsh F Hope of Resurrection
Well, good luck! Nothing to lose and who knows maybe they can still deliver something that is hard to find otherwise.I can tell you that the Walsh CLS design can take pretty much anything you throw at it with very little compression or risk of dam...
