This site definitely has some esoteric  biases. I would not rely exclusively on what products get the most buzz here at the time. Stick with products that have long successful histories and lots of people all over who like them.  
Speakers: Anything really new under the sun?
Kef is doing a great job of innovating in recent years and are very transparent in communicating exactly what those innovations are and how the results  are actually measured as proof.   
Tweaks, money pit or real value?
Good tweaks are cheap and effective. Bad tweaks are expensive compared to the alternatives and some do little or nothing.
