Sound Quality of red book CDs vs.streaming
Streaming services such as Spotify and Apple have huge catalogs.  I listen to Classical exclusively and generally am able between the 2 to find any recording, provided it is in print.  Several caveats apply.  Both services have search engines opti...
Bluesound NODE 2 paired with Benchmark DAC 1?
The Node2 is really a fantastic bargain, when used purely as a transport into a great DAC
Step up from Bluesound Vault 2, next move?
I think what does matter the most with streamers is the App.  The quality of the user experience is IMO largely determined by the ease of access, especially large collections.  Bluesound OS is ok but hardly perfect.  I didn’t find the Auralic or B...

+kahlenzHeard the Node2 at Axpona 2 years ago as the front end in a Megabucks system with Magico speakers and Boulder amplification (can’t recall the DAC, which I think was actually the product on display, but I am sure that it cost at least 10K) ...
A very good ENGINEERING explanation of why analog can not be as good as digital..
Sounded pretty Canadian to me

UberI did try an Auralic Aries in my system about a year ago and wound up paying a restocking fee to return it.  It sounded slightly different than the Vault into my DAC, but not better.  The bass was a little tighter, the treble less crisp, the o...
MSB Select Dac vs Vinyl
OPRegardless of what you may perceive, vinyl has an inherently limited dynamic range vs digital.  It doesn’t matter how much money the turntable costs

It’s also interesting that in the end this video turned out to be an  ad for selling digital remastering software.  It makes me wonder why they would spend so much energy on discussing the limitations of vinyl.  Are they worried that customers wil...

The vinylistas don’t care about logic, so don’t get your hopes up

What is your budget, uber?i am not sure that when it comes to digital transports, beyond a certain price point, that more money equals more performance.  See if you can actually try a piece in your system, using the Brooklyn, to see if it is truly...
Help with choosing music server
The Vault 2 uses the BlueOS.  You rip a CD and it pretty much gets organized the same way iTunes does.  It doesn’t provide any extra info about the albums a la Rune...
Help with choosing music server
It’s like iTunes.  You get the cover of the album.  I listen primarily to Classical and occasionally it is misidentified, such as the wrong Conductor and Orchestra but the right work, which would probably be less of an issue for pop musicI own the...

The Bluesound Vault2 would fit your needs, but they also perform frequent updates....but you can choose not to do them

@2psyop does the Benchmark unfold MQA?
MSB Select Dac vs Vinyl
Way out of my price ranges, so of limited interest to those of us who don’t have the ability to audition the stuff.  I also don’t really know how to respond when people compare digital to vinyl.  Regardless of the cost, all vinyl rigs have inheren...
