What's up with lousy bass on classic rock recordings?
Responding to the comments so far... I've listened to most of my rock examples on vinyl and digital. VH 1 was a digital remaster (Qobuz). The vinyl examples are not remasters, but also not original pressings. Another example is a MOFI Master of ...
Building stands for Harbeth 40.2's
The resonant woods have round rubber pads separating the speaker from the base  - never compared them to TT I just took my dealers word that they were as good and less expensive - he could have sold me anything really cause I trust him.
Lyra and OMA
@noromance  Project table sounds like a weak link. +1 from personal experience with an RPM 10 Carbon

@erik_squires good point, never had a boom box, but I did have JBL 6x9's with an Alpine head and amp in the trunk - that was fun
Eva Cassidy "remastered"
I've heard it - via Qobuz - listened to the entire album - didn't know the back story until now - I really enjoyed it, but I admit I wondered how she got the opportunity (thinking it was done while she was alive). Really quite beautiful and I don...
The Mood Was Ruined
It happens, it sucks, but it happens, fortunately not often. And yes, it ruins the whole album.  My copy of Dire Straits On Every Street has a different issue - "static" sounding - the whole album. Took it into my deal who has an Audio Desk - hel...

I don't have an direct experience but I'm personally very interested in Etsuro and they seem hard to get in the US - you might have better luck in Japan
Rell or JL subwoofer?
I don't know about JL room correction, but I used to own a Martin Logan sub, got the mic and software - total waste of time. Sold it and bought 2 REL T/9x's and never looked back - I run them from RCA sub-outs with 80Hz pass from the amp and use ...
LOUDEST Concert and Tinnitus
@cd318 Cool story - I had the pleasure of meeting Douglas Adams - related to an immersive “game” called Starship Titanic about 2 parallel universes on board a ship We provided authoring software he died too early
LOUDEST Concert and Tinnitus
@daledeee1  I was always amazed how loud a Feder guitar amp will go as well. In jr high school, 79’, one of our friends would show up at parties with a Fender Twin (I think 65w) and play Eruption perfect (there were a few ‘bands’ in the school...
A SHOCKING DISCOVERY ABOUT DIGITAL AUDIO
But the question is whether the rest of you can? Question mark added. My answer is YES! Where is the evidence the recordings were done using ultra high bandwidth microphones This question tells you all you need to know. (mic drop)

+1 for Resonant Woods - these are what my Harbeth dealer provided with my 30.2s I took the floor models so got a discount cause they had a bit of dust, but I think they are $1200 new/direct from RW?
A SHOCKING DISCOVERY ABOUT DIGITAL AUDIO
was it really said by Albert Einstein? I don't believe so.
