Volume levels
My experience is the opposite. I actually have the volume of the phono stage input on my amp offset -3dB to balance the volume a bit when switching to/from my DAC.  So I'd say it's mostly system depend as @mulveling alluded to, but it also depend...
Accuphase E-5000 factory power cord good enough?
@westcoastaudiophile I have not. The OP didn't mention he had a "high grade" power cable. No mention of this in the specs either. Is this an optional item?
Accuphase E-5000 factory power cord good enough?
As a former naysayer, the answer is probably no. Everything matters. However great quality can be had for a reasonable price and Zavfino is one of many good examples as they sell direct to consumer. Take out the distributor and dealer margin and ...
Cary vs Raven
forgot to mention Raven has a 45 day return policy for a reasonable restocking fee
Cary vs Raven
I have not owned Cary but I have owned a Raven Osprey and I’m disappointed that I sold it. Long story. The guy who bought it is really happy though. Raven’s are really nice amps and their customer service is top notch - very personal. If you are...
Who out there wants to, or has, validated an amazing cable find?
I am sorry if I hurt your feelings Vigo with my experience crawling up from the button where I made nothing to a successful audiophile over the past 20 years.   This tells you everything you need to know.
Seeking Legit Cartridge Expert?
I’ve had the Hana ML in my system and also have the 40.3’s. What amp are you driving them with?
DAC upgrade
This is the only DAC I’ve owned or heard in my system so no expert opinion here. I also have a BS Node and added a Black Ice Tube DAC for $800 and it is pretty impressive. The stock tubes were replaced immediately with expensive NOS Mullard’s but...
Your Not-So-Obvious Best Fidelity LPs
The Impex pressing of Jennifer Warnes "The Well" is pretty nice, as is Famous Blue Raincoat mentioned earlier (also Impex).
Lowest priced MC thats better than a Premium MM?
+1 for the Hana ML
ClearAudio Tracer tonearm tracking force adjustment malfunction
@mulveling Thanks for the advice - I tried both suggestions and neither worked but I think I've figured out how it works. My guess is there is a nylon piece inside the pivot housing that the rod threads into which pulls the weight section forward...
Is toeing speakers a bad idea?
Thanks for the question and thanks @hilde45 for posting the PS video. I always thought my Harbeth 40.3's should be toed-in somewhat, and I thought they were pretty dialed in at roughly 10 degrees (actually 3 inch diff. in distance from the rear c...
Record Weights/Disc Stabilizers
No prob, where did you buy the Furutech from?
Little help with REL subwoofers, please?
I have 2 T/9x's and believe in matched stereo pairs or quads for 2 channel systems. In your case, I'd get 2 T/7s if you can't swing 2 T/9's.
Record Weights/Disc Stabilizers
+1 on the HRS  One function of a weight is to secure the record to the platter in lieu of a mat, which in my case is bare Delrin (mats are not ubiquitous). Another function is to deal with vibration/resonance generated by the stylus. The HRS uti...
