Eversolo DMP-A8 vs iPhone plugged directly to integrated amp - why no difference?
@lanx0003  Statements like the one you made could potentially destroy their dreams. Let's bring this back to planet earth shall we. The global audio consumer market doesn't give a hoot what I think. My potential to destroy anyone's hopes and ...
Your Ultimate Phono Preamp: Which One Would You Choose?
I'm very happy with my GoldNote PH-10 w/PSU-10. I'm using balanced outputs, and it is dead quiet. I was recently tempted by a killer deal on PH-1000 but I've got other priorities right now. Now I'm intrigued by the BMC MCCI and glad the extra on...
Eversolo DMP-A8 vs iPhone plugged directly to integrated amp - why no difference?
@lanx0003 You're kinda helping my case...but my claim was that my gut (intuition) tells me the Company is in it for a quick buck as opposed to a long-term strategy of making high-quality gear and earning a good reputation. It is how I feel. I don'...
Eversolo DMP-A8 vs iPhone plugged directly to integrated amp - why no difference?
@ghdprentice I have zero evidence but my gut tells me Eversolo is nothing more than a short-term private equity play. Maybe a HiFi Rose knock-off. Their About Us page on their website is informative. Meaningless company description and the same s...

I just tried this. I said "hello". The response was "stop listening to nutcases on Audiogon"

My wife has the aA 8  and forsure you need a good Ethernet cable from your router  ,the most important is going to the A8 at least a $4-500 (ethernet) cable Where is @jasonbourne71 when you need him?

Or, the Eversolo is great on paper but poorly executed.

@painter24 +1 And it stops playing music when I leave the house which really annoys my wife.

@jasonbourne71 Ha! A bit too quick on the draw there buddy, I said a $2,000 streamer/DAC SHOULD sound better, not WILL sound better. If it doesn’t send it back. And you also missed the Node reference, which I own. $400. Sounds really good and yes...
Eversolo DMP-A8 vs iPhone plugged directly to integrated amp - why no difference?
I’m no expert but my first question would be what is your streaming source and is the stream resolution set correctly. Also interconnect cables do matter. But yes a $2K streamer/DAC should sound better than an iPhone. Heck, a $500 BlueSound Node ...
Zavfino prima mk2 speaker cables
I don’t have direct experience with the Prima’s but I have several different Zavfino products and I think they are very good, and very reasonably priced. The Nova’s are a bargain for how good they are, as are their Fusion interconnects. Ray at RLI...
Non-fatiguing speakers in $10K range?
Any Harbeth speaker. Most fatigue free speaker I’ve ever owned.  Agreed, but having owned 30.2XDs and as a current owner of 40.3XDs I would not recommend Harbeth for the OP's rock-centric music preferences.
All Hail the meek --yet mighty – NODE 2i
@beernut  I hate to add another piece of gear right now but for external dacs, what are some good choices to explore that will be an improvement without blowing up my retirement account? My only experience is with my current Black Ice tube DAC...
All Hail the meek --yet mighty – NODE 2i
I agree. The N130 was my first streamer, $400 open box. Added the LHY LPS and then a tube DAC, Mullard NOS tubes that cost more than the streamer, good ethernet & USB cables and to me it sounds really good. I plan to home audition a HIFI Rose...
Cornwall IV vs. Volti Rival, Razz; Razz v. 1, 2, 3 -- what changed?
@hilde45 Not trying to push Tannoy's, and I have never owned them, but I'm intrigued by them. Why? Same reason I became a fan of Harbeth. Once you hear them the sound sticks with you (me). I heard vintage Tannoy's - no idea what model but pretty ...
