Best guitar explosion of all time
Like others above, I give Fripp some serious credit for the stuff he's done with Eno. Many nights I've listened to those solos and been amazed. Funny enough, I sat next to him at a show in town a few years back where a friend of mine was playing. ...
Who is Michael Fremers'
Hi Michael,Nice to see you post here! I was happy to see your review or Raul's Allaert. Most people will not have the opportunity to hear as many products in the analog world as you do and I find that important. We may not always agree, but you ha...
Who is Michael Fremers'
Gregadd - I thought your post was in good fun! Maybe the next time Raul comes to town he'll bring the Allaert with him so I can hear it too!
tubes and analog
Well, the amp didn't exactly "blow up", but because of the wrong fuses it did take out a speaker(woofer) and I doubt Spencer wanted to continue using it until he tracked down the problem. I thought Spencer's explanation revealed clearly why Raul t...
tubes and analog
Audiofeil - a "shill" eh? Come on, gimme a break. Who has something to sell here and works in the industry, not me. Perhaps you should look up the definition before you use words you don't understand.I think Doug's post above may be leading us in ...
tubes and analog
Hmmm, Audiofeil, why don't you ask him to explain it rather than using words like crap, BS, ridiculous, etc. You're posts have been nothing but antagonistic for so long it has become tiresome. You keep attacking Raul like he's trying to sell his pr...
Should I purchase an expensive phono preamp
Others may have more valuable insights than me, but you have what seems to be a fairly well matched analog setup at the moment, and if it were me, I might try out some different MM carts first and see where that got me. Raul posted a thread recent...
Dyscoveries on Dyna, Denon, Supex, Technics,FR,Ik
I love threads like this as well, cuz they send me off in a new direction considering things I didn't even know about before. The experience of others here is such a treasure trove of possibilities.
Fascinating TT-review
Sirspeedy, yep, it does seem to be a well thought out arm. At least it was explained well enough to make me think about what advantages it may have over my own. I really liked that aspect of the article - that it tried to demystify the engineering...
best preamp ever - cost is no object
Well, I own it and I'm sure someone will accuse me of hyping it, but in my experience so far i'd suggest the Essential 3150 that Raul and Jose make.
Fascinating TT-review
Sirspeedy, I was reading the same series of articles the other day and was particularly interested in the tonearm as well. The neutral balance idea seemed good to me since I would like an arm that would maintain its vtf when vta is adjusted. There...
Balanced in phono stages preamp?
The Essential 3150 from Raul is a fully balanced phono/linestage input to output.
Great bass from a linear tracking arm?
Hi Raul,Yes, you mentioned the amp, though I thought it would be coming after the tonearm. Either way I hope I have the opportunity to try both of them when the time comes! I am very happy with my Essential 3150, so anything else you and Jose desi...
Great bass from a linear tracking arm?
I am excited to see what Raul comes up with as well! In the meantime, has anyone seen/heard the Thales tonearm? It's a pivoted arm that keeps the stylus tangential to the groove by rotating the cartridge during play. Pretty cool design, but I've h...
Most Quiet TUBE Preamp. Linestage. $ 12K or less
Sure...I wish I had more to offer in the descriptions, but it was my first time hearing Chris's system and with changing between 3 preamps and a fair amount of new music, it was a lot to get my head around. One thing is for sure, the music all sou...
