Subwoofer boom is too much for me...
There's little, if any, substitution for not locating the subwoofer/s in or very near the rooms greatest bass modes. Playing a low frequency test tone through a subwoofer placed at the listening position while walking the room noting areas with t...
Suggestion for $10K soup to nuts digital?
I've done a number of brick and mortar auditions of mid and higher priced combinations. I haven't been encouragingly impressed by the incremental value. I'm hearing differences, just not as much as I was expecting from what I've been reading in ge...
Did you ever buy too much bass?
Are you running your source full range through the anthem room correction?
New Rel Carbon Special Sub “Roars” when there is no signal!
You might try disconnecting both speaker level connections and using the right and left Subwoofer RCA outputs with shielded interconnects from your integrated amplifier to the suspect Sub Bass speaker. They don't have to be fancy cable. https://w...
Which subwoofer pairs perfectly with Tannoy Stirling GR speakers?
In my experience proper location, equalization and / or optimization provides a far more indistinguishable integration with the room and any speaker. If this is your first subwoofer beware of manufacturer marketing pairing list as well as custome...
Small frame subwoofer
poke33, there’s a considerable difference between REL sub bass systems and the actual subwoofers being suggested above which have far more adjustability. Is the Canton Vento 12’s 21"H x 17"D x 20"D your significant others size limit?
Who says studio monitors are "cold and analytical"?

SACD players that will consistantly read the SACD layer of a hybrid disk?
My Denon DVD 5900 ceased SACD playback some time ago. The Youtube laser adjustment / replacement how to seemed straight forward.  With only eight SACD's it's just not enough incentive.

Powered speakers show audiophiles are confused
sounds_real_audio 11-21-2022 at 01:07pm  So how do you protect the amplifier inside the speaker from the rear waves off the drivers. That rear wave is equal too the wave coming from the front of the speaker?    Velodyne had long since incase...
Pass Labs Speaker Choices
Hopefully someone can remember the speakers Pass used for their demo at the last California Audio Show. An SP-10 spinning LP's via their top line pre and phono stages to their small amplifier driving large DIY horns with a single coaxial driver. ...
I'm looking to add sub-woofers to my system...
No long interconnects, sure. There seem to be number of wireless devises that would make a crawl tested location for a single sub very easy. You’d still need a nearby VAC receptacle. Over years of home and pro subwoofer use I’ve never heard a sub...
I'm looking to add sub-woofers to my system...
["liquidsound,,,,have the ability to take input from the amp output and that have fast enough transient response to keep up with my main speakers."] Are you saying you don't have line level outputs?
going from 2 subs > 4 subs
Front wall corner positioning usually leaves room modes unchallenged. Four subs will reduce, if not eliminate the rooms modes altogether as well as the timing issues. Requiring less gain from each sub and creating a wonderfully tight room lock. P...
Candidates for best speakers in the $2000-5000 market
Vandersteen.  Within minutes at home you'll hear a presentation I'd call rightness. After a week of listening you should be able to hear the shortcomings of many other speakers in stores and at shows.  Not a Vandersteen owner.  All the best.
