How Should We Clean A New Record? I find it cool that we are about the same age with the same passion for our precious recordings. And, again I'm not taking any issue with the technical aspects you presented. My point about boulders in the grooves being held in place by the mold r...
Teres 265 or 320 vs. Sota Cosmos I'm at about 75% myself Nate. I am really motivated though. Sorry I cannot promise. You know how it is.
Teres 265 or 320 vs. Sota Cosmos Nate, you're going to RMAF? If so, I'm now more than motivated to attend.
How Should We Clean A New Record? Loontoon, I generally agree with you. I'd like to point out that there is much better quality water to be had over the R/O polished water to which your refer. I'm lucky to live in an area that manufacuters products used in the computer industry an...
How Should We Clean A New Record? Wow, controversy here. Still, I appreciate your thoughtful insights and before I give you my thoughts on what you've written I've believed for over two decades that the ultimate cleaning method for records would be ultra pure water in conjunction ...
About Lugnut -- Patrick Malone Nate, in the off chance that your post IS NOT a joke, the album name is "Unplugged", released circa 1993, a German pressing. Keep your eyes and ears open for his next release entitled "Praire Wind". Certainly it will debut on CD first and then mad...
Teres 265 or 320 vs. Sota Cosmos Anticipation, anticipationIs makin' me lateIs keepin' me waitin'Nate, sorry to learn of all these problems. As you described to me yesterday the clearance issue should be an easy fix. If the spindle to hole distance is off though it must be correc...
About Lugnut -- Patrick Malone Thanks for the help Albert. I found a very nice copy in Europe. Okay Nate, you can make fun of the crumbs in my beard but you can't make light of Neil Young's music. Stop it now, ya' hear? He he. Albert, the restaurant is a front operation. Nate o...
About Lugnut -- Patrick Malone I hesitate to post this since it's such a weird request for this thread. Would you guys see if you can find me a NM copy of Neil Young's "Unplugged" LP? I'll pay up to $50 plus shipping. Don't just go and buy it since I've contacted several other ...
Upgrading and using the VPI 16 record cleaner Paul's last name is spelled Frumkin. Agree with Scifi about how great it is. I've never owned a VPI RCM but in my experience there is nothing to drain from the process as it evaporates.
About Lugnut -- Patrick Malone Thanks for the kind words all. Kelly, I really look forward to meeting you. Lou, I believe you've nailed it! There is incredible power in prayer and I thank you for yours. This seemingly small goal of going to RMAF will be a dream come true if I c...
cartridge on budget table? I second the Sumiko Oyster as a good choice. Pretty refined and forgiving IMO. You do need to find out if it's a good match for your arm. I suspect it is.
Teres 265 or 320 vs. Sota Cosmos Nate,I've been waiting patiently for a short report but you must be glued to the sweet spot! I know your table is on a par with some of the best and that arm and cartridge will stun you right out of the box. Your phono stage is very, very good as ...
Vinyl's Noise Floor Just a couple of experiences I've had for you guys to ponder. In my room when I'm doing serious listening the peaks measure 90-93 db. That's where I like to listen. At that volume when I lift the tonearm I first sense the small amount of tube nois...
Clearaudio v. Teres I own neither a Teres nor a Schroder. Knowing what I know about the manufacturers and sonic character of the products accused of being hyped by certain members I would buy without hesitation a Teres 265 and a Schroder 2 If my circumstances were di... |
