Linlai E 6sn7 tubes I have a suspicion there is an arrangement in place that gives the distribution Partners a reassurance that there Sales opportunities will not be threatened by a undercut when contacting the Factory Direct. Maybe Linlai does Screen for a select ...
Michael Fremer leaves Analog Planet I’m not sure who I can trust anymore..... https://www.analogplanet.com/content/welcome-analog-planet-20 I like Fremer. I like his reviews and his quirkiness. And I’ve found his videos very informative. But I can’t stand his protege, that self-...
Octave Audio V70SE tube recommendations So, the output tubes are fully burned in. I believe the input tube in the gain stage (12AX7) has the most influence on sonics followed by the drivers/phase inverters. If these were true NOS tubes, which are a rarity these days, they might take 50-...
Octave Audio V70SE tube recommendations You'll get warmth and some good detail from the RCA blackplates. They need more burn-in, in fact the entire amp needs burnin time if new. A bright sound with a lack of low-end often means it needs to be run-in. You may also find the JJ's aren't fo...
Linlai E 6sn7 tubes @aricaudio Thanks for the reply. I have the same tubes as you, excellent sound and build-quality. It seems like Linlai isn't trying to control their international distribution, there are many vendors selling the E-6SN7 (non global). Makes me won...
Linlai E 6sn7 tubes Here's a crazy idea, perhaps an owner of a Don Sachs preamp could contact him and ask if he's compared the Linlai Globals with the E-6SN7 Chinese domestic. After his Shunguang supplier closed, he must have auditioned several types of tubes.
Linlai E 6sn7 tubes @pinwa Thanks for chiming in. You can see how confusing this has been and it took some collaboration to figure things out. I agree with you, is the SQ of the Globals really worth the increased cost? But, after all the research we’ve done here, I...
Linlai E 6sn7 tubes @danmar123 I remember, they were out of stock. Wasn't your initial order from the Linlai website?
Could I use my analog hifi system for commerical bar? I like the concept the Brooklyn guys have, two separate rooms. They call one "the listening room" where people are there to seriously listen to music. The other room is where customers can chat and music is in the background or similar to a typica...
Linlai E 6sn7 tubes It's hard to tell the players without a scorecard. Can somebody remind me who's got the Global E-6SN7 and can we expect a comparison vs. the Chinese E-6SN7?
Check this out, if you already haven't. Magnificent collection.
How to ■ break-in ■ Clock Cable ■ @opera_lover Sorry, I can't help you. My setup uses a S/PDIF coax cable carrying signal and clock data from source to DAC. For burnin I kept my DAC turned on while CD transport played music and a burn-in disc.
How to ■ break-in ■ Clock Cable ■ why would you want to use an R2R DAC (Audio Note) without a proper filter (to remove out-of-band artifacts) and upsampling? These were both used to improve the noise/distortion (linearity) of R2R DACs. @jasonbourne52 , when I purchased my AN D...
How to ■ break-in ■ Clock Cable ■ Not all home DACs have a built-in clock. Audio Note and Border Patrol are R2R ladder Dacs without filtering or oversampling. This design has less circuitry in the signal path. They rely on the source to be asynchronous. To be honest, my Audio No...
Update on Production of Western Electric Tubes User reviews of the current WE 300b are very positive. There were reports of a 6SN7 to be manufactured, but maybe that was abandoned since the Chinese are making high quality tubes for audiophiles. |
