linn sondek tt
There is still a large group of LP12 owners. Most already own a Linn setup and continue to upgrade, so I don’t think there are many new sales, except perhaps in the UK. The issue is that a new SotA Linn is very expensive and there are better table...
Sound Quality of red book CDs vs.streaming
@rvpiano, nothing wrong with your choice of reclocker. Many happy owners. It does require a long break in period. Run some heavy metal from a streamer thru it 24/7 or use a CD transport. A burn-in disk or file works best. The weak link is the switc...
Best way to pay for audio purchase?
Good to know that the CC is still king when using Paypal.Thanks.
Best way to pay for audio purchase?
@stereo5 ,That's what I use but wasn't sure about the protection aspect. So when using PayPal with a CC as default source, if there is a payment dispute will the CC company be the overriding protection?IOW, if PayPal rules against you, can you have...
Sound Quality of red book CDs vs.streaming
The quality of the transport has a definite bearing on  the ultimate  sound produced when we’re comparing.Definitely. I have used an ARC, NAD, Onkyo, and PS Audio. Each had a different presentation and sonic signature. A major factor contributing ...
Sound Quality of red book CDs vs.streaming
Question:  Does a reclocker have to “break in” like everything else? The iFi does need about 200 hours break-in. My LPS sounded fantastic out of the box and improved after leaving it powered up for a couple of weeks.
Sound Quality of red book CDs vs.streaming
I looked at many high quality LPS’s which were in the $400+ range. I didn’t want to spend that much, so I took to the archives.Good user reviews for Swagman Labs (based in Hong Kong). I purchased the SIGNATURE EDITION which has all upgraded parts ...

Mark, Yeah I should have contacted them about the cables. A piece of one connector snapped off after about 2 months and the other cable not long afterward.I hear you regarding the Atma-sphere. Maybe TMR didn’t really want the preamp, but they shou...
Need a Record Brush. Got a recommendation?
https://www.sleevecityusa.com/diskeeper-anti-static-cd-dvd-sleeve-p/3cdcir.htmI guess I've wasted enough time. I'll continue with the anti-static brush when using plastic CD cases. Thanks.
Need a Record Brush. Got a recommendation?
Geoff, that's right. Any static charge on the disk would happen in the transport. Now what happens if I remove the disc and place it directly into a soft plastic case. Since plastic is an insulator and not a conductor, would the static charge b...
Need a Record Brush. Got a recommendation?
Will a CD hold a static charge when stored in the soft plastic holders similar to clamshells? I use the Audioquest brush when removing the discs, but not a concern when using jewel cases.

Ok, so dont believe me. I’ve been on this forum a lot longer than you. If you were familiar with my threads and comments you would see that I dont troll, exaggerate, or make negative comments. This is an old thread and last year I made positive co...
Need a Record Brush. Got a recommendation?
I'm not trying to hijack the thread, but does anybody use one of these brushes to wipe CDs before playing? I've read all the CD demag threads in the archives, dont want to get into that.Just wondering if dust collects on the reflective side of a d...
Sound Quality of red book CDs vs.streaming
@kalali,Another reclocker is the iFi SPDIF iPurifier which I own. “Ditto. It actually makes the Chromecast Audio sound pretty darn close to Node2 using the same (non-MQA) outboard DAC and using the optical TOSLINK connectivity. The improvement usi...
