CD Transports
+1 @curiousjim.@instlouis, in addition to the excellent SQ produced using I2S, the PSA memory transport reads the disc, then uses a buffer (FPGA) to clock and error correct  the data before outputting the signal. The result is very low jitter and ...
Tidal digital hi-fi vs records
@cleeds , Using a direct copy of the analogue master to produce CDs. Minimal compression during the A to D process, no remastering, no additional EQ added.I'm referring to the mastering and transferring to media before the Loudness Wars.
Is it just me or does the "new" posting parameters seem like there unproductive?
Seriously, what are these new parameters?
Tidal digital hi-fi vs records
@noromance , putting aside the vinyl/digital debate, there could be other reasons for a difference in SQ. Consider the quality of your components, is your analogue rig better than your streamer? Also, I've noticed that some songs on Tidal don't so...

@curiousjim , why order the ProJect DAC and then move to the BiFrost Multibit? They are two very different animals, which I would imagine, have very different sonics. The S2 uses a Sabre DAC chip and supports MQA. The Schiit is a NOS ladder dac us...

If you own the Direct Stream DAC, then you have a device which uses a FPGA for excellent jitter reduction.
Has anybody tried Qobuz Streaming service?
@goofyfoot , right now I'm streaming on Deezer and tracks are skipping thru entire albums. So, no idea what is going on. You and I have different setups and are both experiencing this problem.  I don't think I've experienced any skipping with Qobuz...
Looking for an Audio Show
It's true there seems to be a lack of HiFi shows in the Philly area.
Has anybody tried Qobuz Streaming service?
So 5gHz and ethernet, a good setup. I had this problem with Tidal and Deezer. Can you troubleshoot by using Tidal and Qobuz without Amarra?
new equipment power conditioner or more powerful amp?
My 2 cents... improve your power by installing dedicated AC lines; cleaner power which will provide a lower noise floor.Next would be room treatments, they don't have to be expensive. Then you'll hear the true sound of your current system.
Has anybody tried Qobuz Streaming service?
@goofyfoot , what streaming service are you using and what hardware?I have experienced jumping tracks, but it only seems to happen when playing a selected stream and not an album. There may be too much traffic on the 2.4gHz band.I plan on buying a ...
Has anybody tried Qobuz Streaming service?
I’ve tried free subscriptions to Tidal, Deezer, and Qobuz. Tidal and Deezer have a deep rock catalogue. I was turned off by so much hip-hop being recommended by Tidal, plus they had a poor classical selection.I upgraded my Qobuz to hires (Studio v...
Soundstaging and Imaging: Not an Illusion
The same applies to recording jazz or classical in a studio. It’s easy to tell when close mic techniques are applied and recording the instruments separately is done. Adding reverb and post effects can’t simulate the ambience of a band playing tog...
Soundstaging and Imaging: Not an Illusion
I agree with the OP regarding acoustic music. For realistic imaging and soundstaging it begins at the the source; recording the instruments and venue properly. With proper mic placement and recording techniques, the location of instruments in spa...
heeeelp please audio reserch 5SE - resistor blew up
I also trust Andy to test NOS regulators and rectifiers. Using Tung Sol in two Audio Note components. T-S recommended by the designer.
