Duelund shielding Thanks all, for your comments @mitch2 , I'm not intending to use connectors, but will follow the advice in this review. My speakers (ATC SCM40) are 3-way and have 3 sets of binding posts. At the moment I have the supplied metal jumper bars in ...
Warm Sounding Cable Hi @inna . I hope you don't me resurrecting an old thread. I considering the Poseidon and the Neptune to warm up my system a little. Have you tried both?
Post binding for crude tone control Don't get me wrong, all, it can still sound great, but like most I want better. I think it likely, however, that I will try for a warmer speaker cable. I've read great things about the Purist Audio range. In particular, their Poseidon might w...
Basic switch....should I upgrade? @antigrunge2 . I'm going through the same. I think my USB is pretty good, but I'm still seeing some digital noise (apparent mostly in sibilance), so am focusing now on ethernet stage. I've tried Eno, and cheap fiber bridge, but both too analyti...
Basic switch....should I upgrade? I've noticed that some have an EtherRegen before or after a fiber bridge. Can I ask if having both offers any benefit? As far as I'm aware they perform the same "re-generation" and noise removal function, but by different means. What's the poin...
Best qobuz records to compare dac upgrades I'm not a jazz fan, but I do recognise that jazz recordings are generally brilliantly engineered with only a handful of acoustic instruments. In particular, Gershwin's World by Herbie Hancock (24-192) is spectacular, both for vocals and instrumen...
Where to invest the most in the "digital chain"? @anzaanimalclinic . I read your post with interest. I've just invested in the Sotm 7u, based on many positive reviews and comments of the Sotm cable family. I'm hoping it will be my primary ethernet cable that feeds my Zenith Mk3. I realise th...
Innuos Phoenix USB cabling @nyev thanks. Yes, I’d love the other Phoenix also, but can’t afford it plus another cable. I do need to address the Ethernet stage though, hoping to find a used EtherRegen Interesting observation regarding cable length. The IsoAcoustics guys sta...
Chord M-Scaler and Should I Want One? @nyev . There are some great ones. In the UK we have a Judge Judge.
Chord M-Scaler and Should I Want One? @nyev , regarding Rob Watts name, I believe it's called nominative determinism. Another example. Where I used to work, the guy who physically shifted the servers around had the surname Heaver.
Careful if buying Purist Audio Neptune fluid cables. Thanks @chayro . By chance, have you heard the Neptunes too? They have the same fluid dampening, but are twice the price. I don't doubt they're better, but I wouldn't want it at the cost of losing the Poseidon's warmth
Careful if buying Purist Audio Neptune fluid cables. As someone who is looking to inject some warmth into their system I'm seriously considering the Purist Audio Poseidon speaker cables. My question is, should I be concerned by fluid leakage? Or is it a very rare occurrence?
Warming up digital in my setup If you’re feeding the DAC via USB, then the Laboga Emerald is significantly warm and "analogue" compared to any other I’ve tried. A more expensive option is the Innuos Phoenix USB - this will bring benefits across the board, as well as taming the...
USB cable The best USB I've heard close to this price is the Laboga Emerald. It's not the easiest to source, and judging by the absence of mentions on this forum, probably doubly so in the States. Of all the USB cables I trialled it's the warmest, most an...
Audiophile fibre kits - worth it? @sns I look forward to hearing your impressions of the Sonore, once bedded-in. |
