Innuos Network Isolation Switch and Reclocker (Phoenix)
@nyev .  Good to know.   You mentioned the importance of the power cable for the PhoenixNET.  Did you experience the same dependency with the PhoenixUSB?  I had assumed that as one of the Phoenīcēs* key features is the internal linear PSU, then p...
Do Streamer only devices really impact sound quality?
@dvdgreco When I started off on my recent complete overhaul of my hifi, I was similarly convinced that surely 1s and 0s are sacrosanct, and what is the point in buying better than a budget Cambridge streamer/DAC. It wasn't until I tried several d...
Innuos Network Isolation Switch and Reclocker (Phoenix)
@nyev .  A good review.  I think I'm happy enough with my SotM ISOCAT - though you have tempted me a little.  Just curious, what ethernet cable do you use before and after the PhoenixNet? I have the PhoenixUSB and have one good and one great USB...
Innuos Network Isolation Switch and Reclocker (Phoenix)
Personally, I found one of biggest improvements was actually free. The SQ without Roon is much better. Admittedly, Roon has some nice features, especially the equalisation options, but overall I felt it softened the sound too much
Careful if buying Purist Audio Neptune fluid cables.
Thanks, @lyh0121 .  Maybe I'll return to the UK dealer and see if he can lend me a pair of the Poseidons.  He won't accept returns as they're special order. Saying that, I'm something like 100 hours into a pair of Duelund SCs, and they're terrifi...
Basic Roon Question
I recently trialled Roon through my Zenith Mk3, and much preferred the sound without Roon.  Having looked at a number of similar threads to this one, I believe this is consensus.   With Roon I did notice a drop-off in detail, and a warming.   And...
New speaker cables recommendations sought
I would second @grannyring 's endorsement of the Duelund cables.  I started off with Tellurium Q Ultra Black II feeding my ATC SCM40s.  Though some regard these cables as a touch warmer than neutral, I was finding the overall sound a little hard ...
Innuos Zenith MK3/ Roon
Having just completed a Roon trial, I can confirm that the SQ is better from my Zenith Mk3 (v2.2.3) than when Roon is enabled.  This was running with the Zenith as the Roon Core. However, what did tempt me to persist with the Roon was the provisi...
Warm Sounding Cable
I’m currently running-in some Duelund Dual DCA12GA. It cost me only £130 for 4m, and as I can run the bare wire through all 3 sets of binding posts I’m saving masses on connectors, plugs and jumpers. The tone is exactly what I was looking for. Im...
Router for Audio Streaming
That's worrying about your router's upgrade failure.  Netgear have been fine for me so far, aside from the avaricious nature of their support and service add-ons.  I have a Netgear Orbi mesh system, and it’s very reliable. The router has an ether...
Warning when trying Innuos PhoenixUSB
@nyev I think it does take a few days for the clock to warm up completely.  However, I also don't have a brand new PhoenixUSB. I bought mine second hand on eBay from a dealer, and though it has a 12 month warrantee I do wonder if there's any way o...
Duelund shielding
Thanks all, for your comments @mitch2 , I'm not intending to use connectors, but will follow the advice in this review.  My speakers (ATC SCM40) are 3-way and have 3 sets of binding posts.  At the moment I have the supplied metal jumper bars in ...
Warm Sounding Cable
Hi @inna .  I hope you don't me resurrecting an old thread.  I considering the Poseidon and the Neptune to warm up my system a little.  Have you tried both?
Post binding for crude tone control
Don't get me wrong, all, it can still sound great, but like most I want better.   I think it likely, however, that I will try for a warmer speaker cable.  I've read great things about the Purist Audio range.  In particular, their Poseidon might w...
Basic switch....should I upgrade?
@antigrunge2 .  I'm going through the same.  I think my USB is pretty good, but I'm still seeing some digital noise (apparent mostly in sibilance), so am focusing now on ethernet stage. I've tried Eno, and cheap fiber bridge, but both too analyti...
