Personal amp evolution
Hi Thesaint519,Thanks and understand. My own impressions of the 33H was that I could see from the first hearing why they are such venerable amps. Really effortless control and full-sound with a very nice balance. The only part where I felt 'clearly...
Amplifier for Sonus Faber Guarneri EVO's
Speaking for myself, gents, ownership of an SF Guarneri is owning a collector's item, a true piece of audio history, a gem. Looking back through all the names and models that have come and gone...Quads ESL57, Apogee Grand, Infinity IRS, Wilson X-s...

Saint519,Just curious...how did the Bryston 14BSST2 compare with the Levinson 33H monos (which I have auditioned briefly once)? And of course to your current Lamms? Thanks for any insight.
Distortion with ARC Ref 150 and Maggie 3.7
Hmmmm, I am no techie. But when you get a problem at only presents itself during certain passages of music...it seems less like an electric problem (which you would think would occur all the time or at least randomly)...and more like a mechanical ...
Speaker cables to smoothen things up
Agree on Cardas...would also suggest for the money to try some older Transp Reference cables...you can find them here for cents on the dollar. I would go back to 10 year old cable...the reference level or above. There was Reference, Reference XL t...
How big a change would this upgrade make?

What amp sounds most like Krell mcx monoblocks?
Wow...great question. Stretching memory, I would say a high current, high quality Class A amp perhaps. I have only read about Bully Sound, but it is designed by Bret D'Agostino (Dan D'Agostino's son), and shares some of his father's philosophies.....
Amplifier for Sonus Faber Guarneri EVO's
Congrats. I have owned the original Guarneris and then the Strads so have some familiarity with SF. I have heard all the SF speakers and auditioned a few quite seriously except the Fenice/Sonus Faber (limited edition of 30).My comments are based m...
Absolute top tier DAC for standard res Redbook CD
Mattnshilp,I think when Alex speak of "Analog Devices chip", this is the name of the chip manufacturer. Kondo for example uses a chip made by Analog Devices in their DAC 5 Signature and DAC 5th Element...the 1865 chip I think? Zanden uses the TDA ...
The best speaker you ever heard?
Agree!!! I have a good friend with 3 awesome systems...Genesis 1.1s (basically the next generation of Infinity IRS Vs) are one of his flagship speakers (Tidal Sunrays and Marten Coltrane Supremes are his other 2!!). Those Genesis 1.1s are a-w-e-s-...

ISO advice for completing first hi-fi system
Ghost-Pepper,If you can afford it...and you feel sure (you certainly seem sure)...go for it. Given how strongly you seem to like it, sounds like a winner you will enjoy. Good luck.
