Did you hear Adele at the Grammy's? Excuses, excuses. No, a mic touching a few strings would not throw a piano's approximately 230 strings out of tune. People even do things like that deliberately, it's called "prepared piano." No, a mic doesn't change pitch. No, a real profession...
Audiophile pets and their names... Named our tricolor sheltie "Black Molly". She was speedy.
Best for recording records? It's an enormous amount of work to digitize records (or anything else, like tapes.) If you think about the time involved to digitize even a fraction of your collection...even a couple of thousand records is several thousand hours of work.
LG OLED Paul, thanks. You inspired me to order one, which is on the way. BestBuy wouldn't match the online price I found because it wasn't one of 5 or so major retailers they recognize, so I ordered one from the company in NJ and hope for the best.Subse...
LG OLED Paul, how did you get that price? That tv is still $5999.98 on the Best Buy website, never saw it on sale below that.
This is what the typical consumer group considers the 5 best turntables Title should have been, "Best Cheap Entry-Level Turntables" but would still have been somewhat inaccurate.Unfortunately, turntables at this level are mostly inferior to even a cheap cd player, so any purchaser will get the wrong impression.
Why do almost all women today hate home audio? Be thankful, at least if you get some peace and quiet to listen once in a while. I once had a gf who suggested that we play golf together. She seemed to miss the point that we all do some things to get away. You want to go shopping for shoes w...
Gene Simmons says the rock business is dead Kiss had to compensate for their pitiful musical content with all those distractions.
Your 5 Fav Rock Concerts I wish I remembered my 5 favorites...My list of favorites would include shows by John Lee Hooker, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Grateful Dead, The Who (about 1972), and an all-star Ronnie Laine benefit in Dallas c. 1981.
Vintage DACs. Do they hold up over time? I'm still using my Muse Model 2. I do wonder what it would take to better it, other than a better Muse.
Dolby NR encoding - did it ever work Jon said it exactly right. ( I was a taper Deadhead too, and came to the same conclusion.) You just had to live with some hiss. When you played back a live concert recorded with Dolby, you would often play it back without the decoding. The highs we...
Artists that use the same song structure... +2 for Frogman. Blues consists almost entirely of 12-bar or 8-bar forms, although the older generation often ignored (or lost track of) the time count, when they felt like it ("Lightnin' strike where lightnin' want." Lightning Hopkins.) SRV achiev...
Why does most new music suck? Anyone here read, "The Song Machine, Inside the Hit Factory" by John Seabrook? Apparently modern pop is created much like Muzak was. " Painstakingly crafted to tweak the brain's delight in melody, rhythm, and repetition, these songs are highly pro...
What would you do? Chayro, I've practiced law for 33 years, so far.
What would you do? Free legal advice is worth what you pay for it.Don't entirely agree with Chayro, because truth is an absolute defense to a libel or slander suit, and there are jurisdictional issues - they likely have to sue you in your state and county. It depend... |
