A Copernican View of the Turntable System
Dear Dgob, When you say that you found "improved performance" when you mounted your nude SP10 on AT616s, may I correctly assume that you refer for comparison to the same tt when mounted on Symposium products? Or what? Thanks.

Dear Nandric, I am working at this point because I still need income, not because I am too young to retire. The speaker maker, FYI, is called "Sound Lab". They are located in Utah. The full name of the product I bought is "Majestic 845PX", a fairl...
Azimuth and the Fozgometer
Thanks, Ecir, for that insight about quality control. That plus the lack of a good owners manual goes a long way to explain all the consternated owners who have posted here and on Vinyl Asylum about problems with the Foz.
Is power cord upgrade worthwhile on Lenco L75
Sorry. It is the bearing and platter that are sold as a package for $1000, not platter plus titanium idler wheel and arm, and Mirko suggests not to use the platter with the stock bearing, due to the added mass of his platter. This makes perfect se...

Found photos of the platter on eBay. It is beautifully machined and weighs many times more than the stock Lenco platter. I just wonder whether it would be wise to use it with the stock idler wheel, because the higher mass will place unusual demand...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Allen Wright claimed in his "Tube Preamp Cookbook" that he or his listeners could hear a difference when his RTP3 preamp was configured so as to roll off at 750kHz, vs no roll-off! Go figure.Raul, I cannot tell from what you wrote; does your own P...

As time and my birthdays go by, I feel I am headed toward a Linn turntable, a solid-state integrated amp cum phono stage, and a pair of bookshelf speakers. My muscles and joints would love that system. Last night I had to carry just the power supp...

Just sayin' that when I saw the actual size of the Cartright, I was surprised since some of its announced capabilities normally require a bench full of equipment. But, like you, I have an open mind.

Dear In_shore, What you say is also well and good. I further still maintain that the tt and armpod ought ideally to be in unison, so use similar strategy to isolate both tt and tonearm, a la the Da Vinci. I would not favor using a Da Vinci or simi...

Did not know Mirko has made a Lenco L75 replacement platter. Have you got a URL? I would like to see that myself. I do not use his idler wheel or bearing, but he does seem to do quality work. I use the "Jeremy" "super"bearing, made by Jeremy Clark...

T_bone, Why not use an actual M-S armboard (if you are using an M-S tonearm)? I think reproductions are made.Halcro, You are obviously an architect. (I already knew that.) But doesn't all cement shrink to at least some degree whilst it is setting ...
Azimuth and the Fozgometer
Left out a word; should have written "if indeed they gave you..."Frankly, I am a bit suspicious of the Cartright, because it claims to do so many things in a package that is not much larger than the Foz. But I have an open mind, and I do respect P...
Azimuth and the Fozgometer
Dear Madfloyd, You are the umpteenth person to be stumped by the operation of the Fozgometer. I have not even seen one first hand, but I wrote above and elsewhere that the instruction manual must be sorely lacking, if indeed gave you one when you ...

One nice thing about the cantilevered armboard is that one can fine tune the spindle to pivot distance without having to shove around the huge main weight of the whole pod. I think this is a tremendous advantage in obtaining mm accuracy. And I don...

The Reed tonearm was an incredible bargain, even on this side of the pond, when it was first introduced. Then they evidently realized that based on performance it was under-priced. That, and also foreign distributors and their need for a separate ...
