Is Not Responding To An Offer Just Plain Rude?
What's happened to good old fashioned manners? If somebody offered 50% of asking price I would tell them they're being ridiculous and that they need to do some research and try again. All other offers would receive a polite answer. It takes little ...
McIntosh fuse changeout to make better sound
What is the problem when it comes to fuses? If you don't believe they help, fine. Go do something other than belittle those that do.I posted a challenge a while ago regarding this controversial topic. Nobody reported back!  It was simply this and ...
A move from Harbeth to... Wilson?
Richard Vandersteen's designs are extremely good value and are one of audio's best kept secrets. They are capable of entertaining for extended listening periods with a lovely open and musical performance. I have not heard any of the Daedalus range...
I knew room treatments were in my future.
Oh and to retain your sanity it's probably best to just ignore ebm. I am sure he is a nice guy when he hasn't forgotten to take his meds.
I knew room treatments were in my future.
Good advice here to use REW. Also free is HolmImpulse. I recommend you heed the advice and familiarise yourself with either of these essential tools and read up on what is needed to optimise the room behaviour. Someone suggested contacting a compa...

Lots I like but these 3 are getting the most play lately:Ely BrunaJaniva MagnessInger Marie Gunderson  ( similar style but prefer her to the ubiquitous Diana Krall)
Parasound's Hint 6's new volume control provides huge sonic advances?
@ieales, you state: Photocells are semiconductors & thermally sensitive. So what exactly are you saying? You saying I don't or shouldn't prefer the photocell system? In all your above posts you have criticised whatever has been mentioned, so ...
Parasound's Hint 6's new volume control provides huge sonic advances?
Then there is the system employed in 'The Truth' where there are no capacitors, resistors nor potentiometer in the signal path except for the photocell. I have built line-stages using the very good DACT pot and Guido Tent's switched relay system w...

A Couple Little Things I'm Wondering About
Here we go again. How can you have an opinion if you have never tried it?@audioguy85,  how does your post address the OP's question or contribute in any meaningful way?  You state " Waste of money if you ask me." Nobody asked you!I am seriously pu...
What's going on with Synergistic Research fuses?
This is turning out to be one of the better threads with some humour to defuse things a little.@thecarpathian, I am afraid I have to strongly disagree with you. I live in rural Ireland and leprechauns are real and Eskimos are cool.@rodman99999 re ...
What's going on with Synergistic Research fuses?
@ cakyol, I think the idea of these threads is to contribute in some meaningful way, which is something you have no intention of doing. OK so you can't hear anything then why bother to comment. Those trying to explain things with man's limited abil...
Does the first reflection point actually matter??
Erik, I did not misread anything! In your first post you merely asked about the importance of accurate positioning of the first reflection point. Only 5 days later do you disclose, via your 'narrow question', that you are trying to help.Your rude...
Does the first reflection point actually matter??
@OP,  so why did you not state exactly that in your first post?OP
Does the first reflection point actually matter??
@aj523, a good and sensible post. I use Dayton Omnimic V2 because I also need to measure the electro-acoustic and Thiele/Small speaker parameters but REW and HolmImpulse are free and do much the same.@eric-squires, what is an "average audiophile'?...
