Recommendation for DAC needed.
You could sell your transport and use the extra cash to upgrade to a Marantz SA-KI Ruby.  Incredible DAC, fantastic transport. Absolutely wonderful.
Integrated amplifier search
Let’s us know how the micromega is?I was going to +1 for Bel Canto. They have a very slick 100w integrated with DAC and phono.  Also Rega Brio + Rega DAC would be 2 boxes but still half the size of the Parasoundcheers!
Morrow IC's
@aberyclark one common theme from peoples experiences with these cables is that they sound good right away, and then they seem to sound better later on. The later on part may be our imaginations, or our brains getting used to their particular sign...
Marantz SA-10 vs SA-KI Ruby
@elizabeth do you play with the dither and noise shaping selections?  How do these effect the sound?
Integrated w/phono but no DAC
To follow up here - still really enjoying the Yamaha A-S801 amp for CD and Digital playing.  Super clean and clear and detailed even at fairly quiet volumes. The DAC sounds good (optical) though i don't use it really.  The remote works really well...
Marantz SA-10 vs SA-KI Ruby
Hi all - So I think to answer my original question, one large difference is that the sound on the Ruby is much less tweak-able.  There is only the ability to choose between 2 digital filters - you cannot adjust the dither or the noise shaping like...
Why does my DAC sound so much better after upgrading digital SPDIF cable?
@audioengr thank you. what would you recommend for a toslink-to-mini-toslink convertor? For compatibility with an airport express or chromecast audio. Thanks!
Why does my DAC sound so much better after upgrading digital SPDIF cable?
@audioengr thank you for the recommendation. could you explain what the Toslink cable you recommended does differently and how you’ve experienced it’s superority? Just curious, as you mentioned you didn’t have a way to test toslink jitter. Thanks!
Considering used towers under $1000..
I’d add Wharfedale diamond 10.7 new for less than $1000 to your list for consideration. I have a pair and absolutely love them. Order them from music direct for a 60-day trial
Integrated w/phono but no DAC
So I’ve only had it for a day but I’m loving it. Sounds crystal clear and detailed and dynamic, but not clinical or harsh. Only using CD and phono inputs but you can turn everything else off with the Pure Direct button and it’s a clear improvement...
Marantz SA-10 vs SA-KI Ruby
It's been 14 days and somewhere between 100-150 hours and the SA-KI Ruby has really started singing.  It's silky smooth sounding with super detail.I have to say my 15 year old Resolution Audio CD50 holds up really well in comparison - nearly as sw...
Integrated w/phono but no DAC
I ended up buying the A-S801.  That price was too good not to try it.  Will let you all know how it goes - thanks for your help!
Integrated w/phono but no DAC
Thanks @djones51. The tone controls on the anthem weren’t enough to adjust to your living room?what did you switch to?this is for my kitchen/dining room and tone controls are very helpful. I’m curious about room correction as well
Integrated w/phono but no DAC
@jl35 Do you have first hand experience with the Anthem 225 and how does it compare to the Belles?  Especially for low-level listening as well? Thanks!
