We complain at the crazy prices but wish that we could afford it.
Budget speaker options, help needed. Hi freediver, thank you so much for taking the trouble to respond, I was hoping that more members would forward their opinions! You have made good points and have noted things that reviews havent done. I am using {old but serviced} Musical Fidelit...
Ugrade-itis - is there a cure? Good subject! You probably get to a point where buying top grade vinyl pressings is the best way to upgrade - you get better sound and increase your library.
Ugh....dropped the stylus on the platter Has anyone had an LP miss the center spindle while the platter is turning? The LP is half off the turntable and flying around like an out of control weedeater. That could take a cantilever out for good. Ive always managed to catch mine in time!
Will Technology Kill the Audiophile Hobby? Its also possible, bar a few specialist groups that still know how to play an instrument, that new music will be so much worse than the rubbish broadcast on mainstream radio now, that you wouldent want to listen to it anyhow. The origonal tapes of...

Dereneville Magic-Mat Ok I found at last a review. I Iike the idea that it is washable. The edge looks a bit unfinished, but at the end it is the enhancement of the listening experience that counts. The other clever part of the design is that it sort of bonds with the re...
Do you ever do this before you listen? geoffkait Haha, yes my one ear is slightly smaller than the other, thus I need to sit slightly offcenter to balance the soundstage...Your comment on room treatments is interesting,I must visit forum threads on the subject.

Emotiva equipmet, how good is it? As sbank said, your speakers are definately up to the task - I found a good review on the, this was the conclusion. `The Dreamcatchers are very attractive, and are not fussy about set up. They deserve to be mated with high quality electronics desp...
Turntable got absolutely crushed by CD Judging by the majority of replies on this thread there seems to be overwhelming concensus that analogue can still hold its own and more often than not surpasses digital in the reproduction of recorded music. However as one post suggests, therei... |
