Blackness - how quiet does it need to be?
Thank you Kijanki. I do believe I get the gist in what you are saying. Since there can only be jitter when a musical signal is present, then noise can't be heard as a "hiss" per say, but as distortion on some level in the music reproduction.
Blackness - how quiet does it need to be?
I'm trying to understand the concept of the CDP contributing to noise while playing vs. when not. How would one hear this noise while the CDP is playing? In my case it's a transport to DAC. What I do know, is that on high quality hi'er res materia...
Purist Audio Break In - Venustas
Good to know, thanks
Purist Audio Break In - Venustas
Jfrech,I have the Venustas praestosSeems like its settling down but I only have 12 hours on them
Purist Audio Break In - Venustas
Sorry Jfrech, my fault, these are speaker cables. I just realized I didn't mention that anywhere.Syntax,I wouldn't have thought there would be a big change either, but it was quite obvious when the first song came on.
Purist Audio Break In - Venustas
Jfech,By "source" I mean from where the signal comes from. In this case the amp is the source of the signal in relation to the speaker cables. I know the true source is the DAC however.
Purist Audio Break In - Venustas
Syntax,I bought the Venustas because when I borrowed them from the Cable Co they where not bright in the system, in fact they were perfect for me - no brightness at all. My personal set came in yesterday and it doesn't sound the same, it sounds br...
Purist Audio Break In - Venustas
As for the right direction, I have the label end of the cable on the amp (or source) end as the instructions say. I'm sure they will settle out, but I didn't know if the extra length might be the culprit of the brightness or that the cable just ne...
Review: NAD m51 DA converter
I use the built in volume control of the M51 strait to the amp - no preamp. I found the presentation of the music much more open and less veiled when going strait to the amp from the DAC. One note though, I use XLR to the amp from the preamp. When...
PAD Musaeus vs. Kimber Kable 8tc
auidtioned the Venustas - bought the Venustas
PAD Musaeus vs. Kimber Kable 8tc
I just demo'd Elementa Advance. Compared to Musaeus it's definitely more open greater transparency while still having many of the midrange and treble qualities of the Musaeus cables. I would say the Musaeus show a smaller presentation while the EA...
PAD Musaeus vs. Kimber Kable 8tc
On continued listening tonight I am really liking the Musaeus, and hoping from a Agoner conformation that the Venustas wont add brightness but will be more open and more resolving - or is there another PAD (below Venustas) that achieves this.
Need info on amp rec. for these Thiel cs2.4's
I listen to all sorts really, but if I had to try and narrow it down, I like Miles Davis (who doesn't right?), Pink Floyd, Harry Connick Jr., Norah Jones, Classical, Johnny Cash, Queen, Led Zepplin . . . well all sorts. I've just recently added a ...
Impedence change with cables and sub

Thiel CS2.4 and suggestion on preamp
Velocityofhue, right now i run straigt from the source to the amp. Though I would love to add a BAT preamp wouln't I just be adding a sonic flavor to the signal at this point. Assuming the BAT doesn't does help in any other way. One question thoug...
