Anyone compared Droplet to the Raysonic CD168?
I owned a Droplet and now own a 168, about 5 months....my droplet (owned 3 years) died from an electrical surge. I have a pending claim against the power company.None of my other equipment died and that makes me wonder if this is a "fragile" desig...
Droplet CD Player - changing the tubes?
this is a two man operation...one hold the top plate while the other disconnects the wire harnesses...the tubes are springloaded and easy to access and replace once the heavy top is off.LarryK

Is this tube sound????
your speakers are a difficult match for a tube amp and the hybrid you have is not really representative of what tube magic is all about. the way to go is pick your speakers ( 90db minimum, 8 ohm nominal) and then match up to an amp you like. The T...
Have you noticed that...
too bad you're into equipment and not music listening...that's the real joy of this hobby.Larry
Does Raysonic CD128 need to be on top shelf?
have my 168 on the top of a three shelf rack..just perfect turntable height and playing a CD reminds me of when I used to spin vinyl.Larry
Question on speaker sensitivity / power.
very general rule of thumb...under 90db go ss and over go tubes but you must also consider speakers impedance....under 8 ohms go ss and 8 ohms nominal or higher is tube land....don't get hung up on mfg. power rating for speakers....it's almost mea...
