High End Intergraded comparisons, Marantz, McIntosh, Levinson, Luxman.... I have the largest surround receiver Murantz makes. I certainly would not consider anything Murantz makes as audiophile. Luxman would be my first pick. However, they cost $11,000 retail. I can buy one for $7,000.
Auto-Tune, Snake Oil, Fuses, Cables, Room Correction, Best DAC, Measurements & Tekton I am not going to read such fine print.
What are your favorite "HOT" songs? Nasty by Vincent Ingala is by far the best demo song to show off a sound system.
Underpowered? A pair of REL S2 SHO Subwoofers would solve the problem. Take some of the weight out of the towers and create a better sound stage.
Placement of Single Subwoofer Affecting Sound of Main Speakers What components do you have? What subwoofers do you own? What is the size of your room? Sounds like you don’t have room for your subs anyway?
Seeking advice for speakers for my Family Room Klipsh are not audiophile speakers. They are very harsh. There are many others that are better. What kinds of music do you listen to. Do you like high frequency detail, etc. Be more specific. There are many in this discussion group that c...
Budget integrated amp needed I personally wouldn't dump a lot of money into a bedroom system. What about a living room?
Audio Research Ref75 se Have you looked at the Luxman 509X. This supplies Class for part of it's output so it won't overheat. I think this would produce plenty of power. Be curious what others in this group think.
The hunt is over My wife would kick me out of the house if my system looked like this. I think there are ways to hide the gear in a stereo cabinet and find speakers that aren't so huge. I like the size of the new Revel Performa speakers. They are very nimble and...
Seeking advice for speakers for my Family Room I think you have a difficult room to work with. Your room opens up to the right with all those hard surfaces. You lose a lot of compression and lose your sound stage. Maybe install hardwood floors and put two 9x12 rugs. The timber of the room ...
Doesnt resistance mean same as impedance?? So far, I thought impedance meant the same as efficiency. That is why I chose 8 ohm speakers. Not sure why someone would purchase 4 ohm speakers because wouldn't that require a more powerful amplifier? So, why then do manufacturers make 4 ohm s...
How Big of a Difference? I was not a believer in speaker cables, power cords, etc. However, I worked with a very knowledgeable sales person at The Cable Company. I ended up spending $4,000 on power cables, speaker wires and digital cables. I was amazed by the sound qua...
Class A into Class AB I am not sure if a class A amp produces more current? I think current is more important than watts. I have heard class A amps sound better. However, they are more expensive. A pure class A produces more heat. I think this is why manufactures ...
Architectural Digest finally shows audio gear! I have two realtors send me listings of homes in my area to get a feel for real estate values in our area. I usually look at several new listings per day and I have yet to see two speakers in a room. No wonder why the dealers are hurting. Peopl...
Recommendations Wanted I can't believe you are listening to music 7 feet away from your speakers? |
