What happened to my room acoustics
@erik_squires @newbee @mijostyn @rhljazz @hilde45 @audiokinesis @ervikingo @jamesw767 @aewarren @ronboco  Again, thank you all for the insights and great suggestions. I think I may have found a potential solution for issues I am having. The Anthe...
What happened to my room acoustics
@ervikingo  The almost full-range Aerial 8 is reviewed favorably with impressive specs. It could be an endgame choice. Good luck with them. The Poang chair is a bit too upright for my liking as well. But if I sit further tilted back (on other chai...

Of interest is that you mapped out the "golden triangle" and then didn’t adhere to it. Thanks @aewarren & @ervikingo. I experimented with that a while ago. If you take a look at my second sketch, you’ll notice the ’golden ratio triangle’ wh...
What happened to my room acoustics
Thank you, @newbee.  I did experiment with varying toe-in angles, ranging from straight to pointing towards my shoulder, to find a trade-off between the width of the soundstage and imaging. I ultimately settled on a slight toe-in that points sligh...
What happened to my room acoustics
Thank you all for the advice. It appears that the consensus here is that I am sitting too far from the speakers. I've adjusted the seating position, bringing it closer to the speaker plane (11 ft), with the speakers now placed 9 ft apart. My room ...
What happened to my room acoustics
@newbee @rhljazz Thank you both for the suggestions. Before I made the following adjustments for the speaker/listening positions, I tried treating the first reflection point, but the HF dip is still present with the same magnitude. I’m not sure ...

Is this even the right forum?  It seems like you are replying to a thread from a different web site. I really do not know what are you talking about.  I am addressing my message to the Audiogon forum. My speakers are Burchardt S400 II as said ...
looking for an integrated amp in the $1500 range
I had the S400 mk II speakers, which are rated at 87 dB, in my bedroom. During low-level listening sessions at around 45 dB at night, I found that, with well-recorded music, I could discern articulated bass notes and open, airy treble without any ...
looking for an integrated amp in the $1500 range
+1 @elliottbnewcombjr However, before acquiring more gadgets, consider implementing the F-M curve concept by using the internal 24 EQ presets or a 10-band graphical EQ in your Wiim Pro streamer, especially if you’re planning to downsize.  I have ...

New Speaker advice
It is straightforward to assess whether the AVR used as a preamp is a weak link, as many have commented. Simply compare it to a direct connection of your DAC with the AR D300, both using XLR and SE connections, and you’ll know immediately. Findin...
USB Cable
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zncAhs44sp8&t=1564s The reviewer offers a more objective assessment of Supra, Wireworld, and Oyaide USB cables. I encourage you to watch the video for a comprehensive evaluation if desired. In essence, the ...
New Speaker advice
@jetter I am going against the flow here, but I have a friend with an older Denon AVR and I am always amazed at how good it sounds. I have always thought Denon makes very nice sounding gear for its price points. I believe the issue lies in usin...
DAC DIRECT IN TO AMPLIFIER OR TO PREAMPLIFIER
@mitch2 I believe it was related to the size of the coupling caps used. I concur. After conducting some research, we could apply the general guideline of a 3dB cut-off frequency at 2Hz to calculate the desired load input impedance (RL) in ohms...
New Speaker advice
To make things a bit easier, you could probably rule out F36 simply because there's no point in having a floor stander with a light bass response (51Hz -3dB).
