MSB Discrete DAC - Roon endpoint Renderer vs Lumin Streamer Unless you’re pursuing used MSB, your dealer should be able to demo Discrete DAC with or without Roon endpoint. Personally, I would pair MSB DAC with external streamer. I highly recommend Innuos and depending on your timeline, Aurender N200 or N20...
Swiss Digital Fuse Box - "What headroom sounds like" @gladmo Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I will get with Mark next week to explore my options.
TV audio into DAC via eARC or better +1, @dbphd eARC + Sonos Arc for best sound out of your TV. I was quite content with optical out from my old Sony TV to my old Sonos soundbar. But Sonos Arc + Sonos Sub has elevated my movie watching experience to another level.
Swiss Digital Fuse Box - "What headroom sounds like" Mark @verafiaudio Great post! Speaking of improvements, I hope next revision of SDFB eliminates the need for pigtail PC or inexpensive male to female plug @thyname suggested.
Swiss Digital Fuse Box - "What headroom sounds like" @thyname SDFB heard your cry for help and they have gone back to LAB to design a custom multi-fuse box for Esoteric DAC. I know I could use one for my Marantz SACD player which uses 8 fuses 😎
Inexpensive streaming amplifier I am shocked, no one mentioned SONOS Ray or Beam soundbars. For music streaming and TV watching, I haven’t found anything better. Add one of their wireless sub later for more impactful sound.
Ripping CD's to SSD? @p05129 You’re obviously clueless. All the newer Aurender streamers now comes with user installable SSD or HDD drive. And it’s so easy to create backup, you be a fool not to have a back up.
Ethernet Switch- what's the point? @thyname Just ignore the likes of Freddy….it’s best not to engage them. I am glad to hear you’re loving the Muon Pro.
Ethernet Switch- what's the point? @milpai I suggest you insert a passive filter like Muon or Muon Pro between the wall ethernet port and your amazing DIY server. And you’re done!
Ripping CD's to SSD? +1, @blisshifi One of the reason why I chose to invest in Aurender ACS100. Prior to acquiring ACS100, I used different methods to rip my CD’s and none of them were quite satisfactory in terms of ease, curation, playback and managing a large libr...
Ripping CD's to SSD? @fthompson251 Welcome to digital world. To combat Wi-Fi, you need USB C to Ethernet dongle. This will speed up large file transfer. My laptop doesn’t have Ethernet port either, I use this dongle during my DSD downloads. https://www.amazon.com/U...
Ripping CD's to SSD? @mahler123 The Samsung drive referred here is an internal drive housed inside Aurender. So it does not have USB port. @fthompson251 I would rip CD’s in WAV format. All other formats use some form of compression during ripping process. Once y...
Ripping CD's to SSD? @fthompson251 How many CD’s you’re planning to rip for comparison? PM me and I’m happy to help you out!
Music Server Advice @blisshifi No worries. Now, it wouldn’t have been nice to get an upgraded clock module in N30SA then just the aforementioned upgrades with two chassis. From what I can tell, you get the same PCB board & clock as in N20. I wish I didn’t have ...
Music Server Advice “with the N30SA having a 10MHz Rubidium clock,” @blisshifi I don’t think this is true. N30SA uses a high quality OCXO internal clock. To answer your question about oversampling, I am not a fan. I prefer my digital bits in their native resoluti... |
