Network optimization for serious streamers “not being able to replace the DC cable on the modem is a deal breaker.” Tell me about it! I got lucky, the folks at Xfinity thought of everything, the modem comes with detachable DC cable 😊
Network Acoustics Muon ethernet filtering system - Improving streaming sound quality @mitch2 Fiber conversion in my system just never connected me to music, the way copper base Ethernet LAN does. There is just more emotional engagement with copper LAN vs Fiber that sounds dry and lean not to mention the added baggage (LPS) and c...
Network Acoustics Muon ethernet filtering system - Improving streaming sound quality @gladmo Looking forward to your impressions. From what I’ve read, AS makes good sounding cables.
Network Acoustics Muon ethernet filtering system - Improving streaming sound quality @gladmo I have not, may be in very near future.
Ethernet switches the good and bad @audioman58 That’s what I did! My Xfinity router is fed by good ole Coax cable. And this allowed me to bypass cheap cat5 internal wiring in the house.
Ethernet switches the good and bad @vonhelmholtz You are using Sigma Ethernet cable which uses a pair of CMode filters. In theory, you don’t need any additional switches between the wall and your streamer. Sigma is doing its job of filtering noise. As an alternative, you could br...
How many of you streaming? There are very few albums that I find myself listening in its entirety. And this has nothing to do streaming….what I do love about streaming is our ability to create playlists. I have over 60 playlists that are ranging from 45 min to 6.5 hours.
Sometimes more is not better -or- Ethernet Overkill No issues whatsoever with LinkUp Cat 8 cable in my system…running a 50FT from Xfinity Gigabit speed router to an audiophile switch.
New DACs High End Munich 2023 @milpai New or old tech, R2R or ∆Σ, the most important thing is, implementation. Since you already own a very nice tube preamp I would steer clear of tube DAC’s. Compile a list of DAC’s under your budget and see how many of those you can auditio...
WhestTHREE signature phono pre vs. ModWright PH 9.0X @paulietunes Thank you…some folks just feel compelled to post. My recommendation was based on OP’s preference for, “What I like: wide soundstage, incredible mid-range, detail, some warmth”. And Konus delivers on all of the above in spades.
WhestTHREE signature phono pre vs. ModWright PH 9.0X @mmcgill829 The Vinyle comes in three different performance and price tiers.
WhestTHREE signature phono pre vs. ModWright PH 9.0X May I recommend Konus Audio Vinyle 300MC. Reach out to Colin @gestalt for in-home demo. I heard this phono for extended period and came away impressed by its sheer musicality and resolution. I am putting together my vinyl setup and this would be m...
Vitus RI-101 mkII cables recommendation I suggest you look into Acoustic Revive or Combak’s HIJIRI cables. Both of these brands should mate with Vitus much better than Nordost. And I would start with PC first, then IC and speaker cable unless you can afford to buy them together.
Advice on how to liquidate system @jl1ny I am sorry to hear about your hearing loss. I am with those in favor of not selling your gear until you have exhausted all the options out there to restore your hearing. If your mind is made up to sell your gear, then reach out to TMR aud...
Fee for home audition “5% of purchase price is what the folks over at The Cable Co charge and will apply the rental fee towards any future cable purchase. Quite a good deal all in all.” Not in my opinion, 5% retention means now you’re obligated to make a purchase from... |
