Audio Research Reference 6 Preamp Review jhconnor, typically one box solutions are not considered 'no cost object' designs. Let's be fair, how about asking this person a direct comparing between the 40th anniversary edition and Reference 10?http://www.audioresearch.com/en-us/products/pre...
Audio Research Reference 6 Preamp Review Thank you for your feedback and enjoy the Ref 6.
Audio Research Reference 6 Preamp Review elem79, what is your opinion about SP-20? There are couple of them on sale. I can't afford to buy a new Ref 6, so I am eying on LS28 or SP-20 to mate with my KWA150SE's. Did you by any chance audition LS28 before you bought Ref 6?
Equipment Rack Also look at Core Audio Designs, I never felt the need to throw away my money in isolation tweaks. Solid hardwood construction with dampening materials in every shelf. I own a pair of PlyKraft's and amp stands for now 5 plus years.
Audio Research Reference 6 Preamp Review In my experience several gears over the years, the combination of tube stage preamp and solid state amps gives you the best of both worlds.
Audio Research Reference 6 Preamp Review Thanks for posting the link. Nice review, $14K preamp is bit a stretch for my budget. I am hoping for a review on LS28, it would be interesting to learn how does it fair against the Ref 6.
basic passive preamp I would look into Tortuga passive preamp. http://www.tortugaaudio.com

Capital Audio Fest 2016 I would love to hear anyone's experience with ARC LS28 and DAC9. http://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/audio-research-introduces-foundation-series/
Placing B&W 805S bookshelf speakers (stands? risers?) You can get custom made maple blocks for your B&W's. Depending on your budget, check out Timbernation or Core Audio Designs.
Aesthetix Calypso Signature to Eclipse Johnny, are you suggesting to try Saturn Eclipse over Jupiter Eclipse?
Aesthetix Calypso Signature to Eclipse I see myself living with a Signature version as well. I think with Signature upgrade you get the most bang for your buck. IMO, the Eclipse upgrade particularly in an esoteric context, it's a fifth element. The benefits in this category are only ...
Aesthetix Calypso Signature to Eclipse From Aesthetix website, The Eclipse upgrades consist of the use of new exotic Stealthcap™ capacitors; electrical upgrades including hand-tuned capacitors, super-matched output devices and distributed node technology; advanced mechanical chassis is...
Aesthetix Calypso Signature to Eclipse "a used Aesthetix Callisto Sig would be much better than a Calypso Eclipse"This is a very interesting statement. I was considering Calypso Signature or Eclipse which are as it is rare to come by on used market. I don't think I have seen a used Cal...
Dazed and Confused - Upgrading System But Too Many Options! Unless you pick a integrated preamp with built in DAC, you will need a outboard DAC with N100. Aurender makes awesome music players. You should check out A10 with a built in DAC and streaming capabilities. However an external DAC will allow tot... |
