Digital clock - any recommendations?
@mzkmxcv, Do you have any clue what you peddling here....the link you attached is not a preamp. It’s a LessLoss modified Rega CD player with external DAC. I am including the link again for your reading pleasure and education, https://6moons.com/au...
Digital clock - any recommendations?
“As I’ve stated on this forum, there is no real technical benefit to DSD in regard to music listening, so I wouldn’t be worried about losing it”Please spare us with your worthless knowledge on DSD, jitter and anything that has to do with digital. ...
TIDAL Master Quality
@rbstehno,please don’t get shadorne started on MQA. He never warmed up to MQA and currently owns the ‘perfect’ non-MQA DAC in the world, his ears and the DAC both are completely immune to any digital imperfections 😉
TIDAL Master Quality
Is this another one of those threads ‘I love vinyl and everything else is crap’. Does all of your recordings sound awesome on Vinyl? I think not. Regardless of the format, the sound quality of any recording depends on the original master. Whatever...
Digital clock - any recommendations?
@soix,I agree with you, the only way to find out is to try one of the aforementioned recommendations on external clock’s. The OP may hear improvements or may not, in any case he will squish that upgrade ‘bug’ for good. May be someday, I will give ...
Digital clock - any recommendations?
+2, @folkfreak@tzh21y, Here is another recommendation for external clock, http://www.grimmaudio.com/pro-products/master-clocks/cc2/I think the guys suggesting to go with external DAC missed your point of exploring the external clock. I own the sam...
How to connect subwoofers
Here is another recent discussion about integrating subs. https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/best-way-to-integrate-subwoofers
The Audio Gods are tough but fair-Have you had the "Curse of the 300B" ?
+1, jburidan. And if you crave for that deep low end, just add a sub. I just added two REL subs to my Tannoy Canterbury’s and absolutely loving my system. Just cue up ‘Why so serious’ from Dark Knight and you know exactly what I am saying 😉
Is it common for tubes to outweigh the cost of the amp or preamp?
I would have stepped up to next model before investing in those CCa’s. Having said that, you did buy a very rare variant of 6922 tube. Those Siemens are excellent tubes and going to last you a very long time. If they don’t work out with current am...
Is there a difference in sound quality when streaming TIDAL Vs CD player
“Why is the party selling them getting rid of them?”I wouldn’t be worrying about this too much. People change / upgrade / downgrade components for various reasons. The key is to read available specs and reviews for the component or speakers you’re...
The Audio Gods are tough but fair-Have you had the "Curse of the 300B" ?
I wonder how many here are willing to shell out 68K euros for Thrax 300B mono’s. I am sure it’s every bit impressive as it appears on the paper.
Is there a difference in sound quality when streaming TIDAL Vs CD player
@fleschler, Thank you for your recommendation on GroverHuffman cables. They are reasonably priced and appears to be a well thought out design. With 60 days return policy I will try them in very near future.
Is there a difference in sound quality when streaming TIDAL Vs CD player
@larry5729,DSD stands for Direct Stream Digital (Sony digital audio format). It is a trademark used by Sony and Philips for their system of digitally recreating audible signals for the Super Audio CD (SACD). DSD uses pulse-density modulation encod...
Is there a difference in sound quality when streaming TIDAL Vs CD player
“Tidal HiFi is superb for playing from cars, mobiles, and up to 2000$ fixed gear”This is the most absurd opinion I ever read anywhere on these forums. The difference in sound quality varies due to the original master used for a CD or Tidal streami...
Best Way to Integrate Subwoofers?
@sandpat,May I know which grounding block you’re using? Is it dedicated to two subs? I also own a pair of REL’s Serie S CL’s as well. I am currently using QKORE6 for my front end components / amps and QB8 for AC and Component grounding.
