Do No Harm ... well the least harm anyway
“My reasoning for wanting to do this is to limit cone movement of the 2 full range drivers” @koestner, Have you reached out to your speakers manufacturer? They may be able to guide you on running your speakers full range with recommended amplific...
A nightmare regarding streaming?
I never lost my playlists or favorites on my Aurender….here is why another reason to invest in a high quality player that offers a robust proprietary user interface app. Unfortunately, Qobuz is not known for its outstanding customer service.
Do No Harm ... well the least harm anyway
+1, @cleeds Unless your speakers sounds distorted, I would not limit any high or low frequencies. If that’s the case, I would look at the alternate amplification (amplifier) and preamp.
That Transformational piece of Gear We All Wish For
@vthokie83 I had a great experience with GIK. From consultation to buying, the whole process was pretty painless. I never felt rushed and completed my installation in 3 phases. Be patient and open to experimenting with acoustic panel placement. F...
That Transformational piece of Gear We All Wish For
@kerrybh Thank you for sharing. I am glad to hear someone is helping with room acoustics. I relied on GIK Acoustics expertise when I did my room few years back. I checked out Artnovion, looks pretty cool. Please post pictures of your room here on...
False advertising
“I’m looking for a dac that can do 512 dsd natively eg no dop” FYI, There are no 512dsd ‘native’ files…the pro studio recording standard is resolution upto 256dsd. Anything above 256dsd is upsampled.  There are many DAC’s that will do native DSD...
That Transformational piece of Gear We All Wish For
@kerrybh Who did you hire to do room acoustics? I agree, room acoustics is first and foremost thing to do before we embark on gear swapping/tweaking. Speaking of transformational gear…Shindo (tubes) and Accuphase (solid state). You can put toget...
Best Music Streamer to pair with Rogue Audio monoblocks and Pre-Amp
+1, @oddiofyl Buy a streamer that offers best possible UI (user interface) app and support. My recommendation would be Innuos or Aurender. And build quality of a streamer is just as important as their proprietary app as this would net in best pos...
ReL Subs: High Level or Low Level connection
The only way to settle your quandary is to try in your system. Having said that, REL pride themselves on seamless integration through high level (speakon) connection. That’s how I am running my pair of REL’s.
Warm relaxed digital coax
“my experience here indicates to me that once you get past the basic transport level…it’s all about the clock.” Agreed! That’s been my experience as well. @mikelavigne Given your system, interesting decision on Teac transport. Are you testing t...
Warm relaxed digital coax
Give this cable a try, very likely you would not bother with any other brand. The cable is crazy good and offers precise delivery of your digital bits. No harshness / glare….slightly warm presentation.  https://tchernovcable.com/products/special/...
Power Cord for Accuphase Amplifier
“Once the amplifier is broken in I do plan to try a few with the Cable Company which is near me. ” I suspect a sub $500 power cord will yield a meaningful upgrade. Given your system, you would need to look beyond your budget. I am sure you know t...
Half-Speed Masters - are they worth double dipping?
“My analog and digital ends sound the same.” @ghdprentice That’s one of the reason I sold off my all ARC system - pre, dac and amp. Every source I’d tried, sounded the same and after a while listening became a chore! My current system (much cre...
Power Cord for Accuphase Amplifier
@inagroove  DM @jfrmusic and ship those AE Cords if he is up for it. They are not doing any good sitting in your garage. BTW, I had no trouble reselling my AE power cords on USAM at 40% off retail.
