Buiding listening room from scratch - need advice
You ask in my opinion a difficult question because there is such a huge number of manufactures and brands available. I believe you should stay with equipment in your general area that you can actually listen to, so that you will know how it sounds...

I have some experience with the P3and P4 power cords.I think if the P4 already has 500 hours on it and it's on your power regenerator and not being unplugged or moved around it might improve with an additional 50 hours of actual use of the entire ... 
Distortion with ARC Ref 150 and Maggie 3.7
I own a pair of Maggie 3.7's but I run them with a SS amp.I have no idea what the problem is but was just wondering if you ever tried using the resistors with the Maggies and if that would correct any of your issues?

I don't own any type of High Fidelity products however all that matters is if you prefer the sound of one cable over another. The rest is moot as far as I'm concern. 
Balanced cables/Pass gear
I agree with Zd542, it is perfectly alright to use different interconnects regardless if they are single ended or balanced.Remember that each pair of interconnects will most likely give you a slightly different sound therefore you have to try them...

I would think it would be a good idea to try the DAC 8 in your system. Do an A/B comparison. That way you can judge for yourself what you actually hear.
