Speakers for Room Size
Should work, I see no issues, go for it!IMO: should produce a fuller richer sound.I have placed large speakers in rooms the size you describe with great results.  
Maze Audio and other audiophile power cords
Some of those look-a-like Oyaide plugs are actually quite good sounding and well built. What bothers me is when someone advertises a Knock-off Oyaide as the real deal and it isn't. 
Dedicated Line Noise Filter?
 A friend suggested the 5 KVA because he knew it was large enough for most audiophiles systems and would not bottom out. Other than that I'm not sure how to figure the needs but I'm sure other more knowledgeable people on Audiogon could assist.
