Review of TEAC NT-505 I own both Bluesound and Teac and Teac is Much better in every sound quality category, but Bluesounds app is better than Lumin’s which is what I use with Teac. But no contest on sound and that’s what matters for me.
Suggestions for $2k budget I think some used Focal Aria 936 would do well with what you’re looking for. Unless your room is really small, I think you’ll appreciate the bigger sound of a tower vs bookshelves. If you want better advice it would be helpful to list what you amp...
A Hypothetical Analogy Between Fake IDs and Audiology Tests So the idea for this thread was actually kickstarted by a conversation I had with an older gentleman, who was working at one of the local dealers. This was before covid. We were talking about his home system, and how he had just gotten new speaker...
A Hypothetical Analogy Between Fake IDs and Audiology Tests I’m probably dating myself here as for some older maybe wasn’t as much need for fake IDs and as tech got better the IDs got more sophisticated so younger folks maybe not as into it. But it was pretty prevalent for awhile haha
What do you think of my upgrades? Of those amp choices you listed, it'd be Hegel 160 for me.
Adding a sub to modest system I use a small Sunfire SDS8 in my office setup at work, and have been happy with it. Can be found under $300 on amazon. Is it as good as my Rel’s at home? No, but I don’t expect it to be. It fills out the lower registers adequately for a workplace ...
Monitors and speaker stamds? +1 Blu-Tack for my Spendor D1's
What is the best thing for me to upgrade next? Well, given where you're coming from in phase 1, I think a super integrated amp that includes a dac and streamer would be a nice next step, just to keep things as simple as possible. Your speakers a def the nicest thing that you have right now.As...
TEAC NT-505 impossible connecting to WiFi router o such LAN: help me please? Same here (no issues) for me, but I've had mine for about a year. Maybe something changed in manufacturing or something and more recent ones are more susceptible to issues?
What is to become of Marantz Reference and HIFI as we know it I hope marantz keeps going on the right direction. While I made other choices for 2ch components priced at their reference level, I use a marantz AVR for my reference home theater setup and am awaiting delivery of the new pm7000n super integrated ...
Audio reviews: too many analogies, never simple, but most of all, never clear. The less the reviewer talks about the component, the less they like it. They may not come out and bash the component, but read between the lines....
Rega, Totem, or KEF bookshelf speakers? I auditioned three bookshelf speakers in a very small listening room. Spent probably half hour listening to each of three. Spendor SA1, Rega RX One, and Linn Majik 109. Didn’t like the Rega in comparison to the other two (sounded thin and sloppy)....
Can we talk streamers based on UI rather then SQ? Hmmm, not sure what to tell you because BlueOS is the best that I’ve used, and I currently own streamers that use the following, in addition to BlueOS: LUMIN OS, Streammagic (Cambridge), HEOS (marantz), and DTS Play Fi (Integra). Granted, I’m only...
Lunim T2 vs Cary Audio DMS 600 Wow, lot's of unbiased folks with actual ownership or demo experience of both picking Cary over Lumin.
TEAC NT-505 impossible connecting to WiFi router o such LAN: help me please? Seems that a lot of folks starting to have issues. Odd because for last year didn’t see really any problems on forums. Keeping my fingers crossed. Hope Teac replaces or fixes the bad units |
