Pro-Ject CD Box DS2T vs Audiolab 6000CDT
I picked up a DS2T and first impressions are very positive. Sounds better than my older cd player, rotel rcd-1570 (wasn’t dedicated transport). Using a Kimber D60 cable.    still curious if an LPS helps on this guy. It’s 9v 2a
Upgrade from Kimber D60 Digital Coax cable
thanks for the responses.    @rodman99999 interestingly I had the Orchid AES but then sold the player I had that used aes so I sold that cable.    @jayctoy ive seen that name floating around a lot during my searches. Will take a look further
what’s a song cover that you think is better than the original?
What a great thread....  I'll add some obscure alternative ones... Bizarre Love Triangle - Frente (New Order) Pure Imagination - Smoking Popes (Willy Wonka) Toxic - Local H (Brittany Spears) True - Duvall (Spandau Ballet)
STREAMING - QOBUZ VS TIDAL AND ROON'S PREFERENCES
In it's simplest form, whether MQA is trying to do a good thing or not, is the fact they are basically DRM's music in a way, creating a proprietary format that requires manufacturers (and ultimately you) to pay them to use it. No thanks  @fastfre...
STREAMING - QOBUZ VS TIDAL AND ROON'S PREFERENCES
@moonwatcher Yes Qobuz supports bit-perfect. and it's high-res files 24/192 are lossless. as opposed to MQA lossy snake oil  Now the can of worms is how do we know the 24/192 version is not a resampled 16/44 file, etc. the industry as a whole lea...
Point of diminishing returns for a Network Streamers?
@rman9 that is correct.
Pro-Ject CD Box DS2T vs Audiolab 6000CDT
@tweak1 isn't the DS3 a lesser version of the DS2T since the DS2T is a transport only, and the DS3 is a player/transport. Seems they both have same servo/mechanism

Hey @jerryg123 have you been able to compare the 6000 to the 260?
STREAMING - QOBUZ VS TIDAL AND ROON'S PREFERENCES
Never was a fan of Tidal but did compare it to Qobuz years ago, and preferred Qobuz. But I think tidal really shot themselves in the foot when they increased their pricing and you need their highest tier to get MQA (which I'm not a fan of). So bas...
Basic switch....should I upgrade?
@car123 there is no real setting up of a switch (it will sense data flow). If you have the 8 port you just connect the existing lan side cable (going back to your main internet/network/router) to the port on the right by the sfp port (port 8). The...
Point of diminishing returns for a Network Streamers?
I had a Lumin U1 Mini, got curious and built a Ropieee pi4 with pi2AES HAT into same DAC. after about two weeks I felt something was missing... switched back to Lumin and things were back to better.  They were close, but I could definitely tell s...
Zenwave alternatives
Thanks @wig just read the Zavfino thread. Very interested!
Zenwave alternatives
@daveyf I get that and would like to, but I'm moving my rack to the side and will need 5m length, which is pushing the base models to $1200. I know for some that's a drop in the bucket, but right now I can't afford to put up $1200 on speaker cables.
Should I upgrade from a Mac Mini to a dedicated server or should I upgrade my dac?
My thought is if you’re using Roon and you DAC is connected via Ethernet like a streamer then it’s not as a noticeable upgrade (if at all) by adding a Roon NUC, SGC, etc. the big difference comes when using USB out of your mini, which you’d then d...
From separate streamer and DAC to al-in-one suggestion
@rsf507 I'm definitely leaning towards the Bricasti specifically for the reasons you mention. I would have an entire made in usa system including amps and speakers 👍 Not to mention they offer upgrades as well.
