Switch to silver for a treble boost?
Onemug,Agree.
fuses - the $39 ones or the 85 cent ones
Theaudiotweak,Well, I own stocks. What kind of fuse does somebody use for that?

Theaudiotweak,Do you turn everything off (or unplug it) when you leave the house?Do you have a fire extinguisher handy when you listen to music? This may sound funny, but I am serious.
Latest Stereophile - Recommended Components
Stereophile, Absolute Sound, some of the online reviewers like 6 Moons and others and offshore mags provide good places to start your search. I find what approaches consensus on here to be more helpful and broader in perspective in the end because...
How much power is to much power?
Jtnicolosi,You listen to the two kinds of music that require the greatest power reserves - classical and rock. You need lots of power. Think about it, rock is typically performed with several thousand watts of power, huge speaker systems and full ...
Integrated amp for Totem Sttaff
Hieule 5,HA! I bet I am even cheaper than you. I have a Cambridge Azur 640C v2 that is about 2.5 years old, and it works like a champ. When Cambridge first came out with the 640C version 1, they had some problems with noisy transformers and the le...
Integrated amp for Totem Sttaff
Hieule 5,IMHO, the NAD separates and C325/C355/C372 integrated amps are very nice, but I would not put them in the same league in terms of resolution, airiness or PRAT with the Naim, Simaudio or Creek amps mentioned above, especially to drive the ...

Isanchez,I am sure you heard what you heard and liked what you liked with respect to these various fuses.1. How long did you leave the fuses in place with current across them for your evaluations? I found that the HiFi Tuning fuses took quite a wh...
Integrated amp for Totem Sttaff
I still suggest that the Naim entry level integrated is the one I would look at first - at least for solid state amp to go with the Sttaff's. The new entry level Moon is good too, perhaps more neutral but less of a toe tapper than the Naim. Tubes?...

Pubul57 says:"Knownothing, since you do hear the difference, it would be interesting to see if you could hear the same level of improvement with the $12 Acme. No DBT, just listening."I dunno, didn't try them? Cheap is good, especially if its reall...
fuses - the $39 ones or the 85 cent ones
I have to agree with Dave_b, the sonic benefits of these fuses change and improve over time. But I had what seems to be a unique experience after replacing blown stock fuses in my integrated amp with the HiFi Tuning fuses. The sound characteristic...
New Fuse Thread . . .
Just found this on another thread. At least one amplifier designer thinks HiFi Tuning fuses provide value added:http://forum.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/fr.pl?aamps&1206983240&openflup&14&4#14
