The best CD Player for the money
I'm with Milpai, that was an interesting first post from Audiogon28221 and I find myself in agreement with some points. It is possible to get great sound from a $150 CD player, assuming of course the rest of the system is in order and there are so...
Cambridge Audio 840C player still a good buy ?
I owned an 840C for several years. An incredible player for the money. I had to spend a lot more to better it
Need at least 900wpc in 4ohm
Make this the third vote for the Sanders Magtech. It is an extraordinary amplifier with a superior power supply courtesy of its linear voltage regulator. If more power is needed (and it might be if you are running full range ESL or large planar spea...
Class A, 6SN7 pre amp with zero feedback
Cary's SLP-05 fits the bill, though sans HexFred - which can be DIY fitted. The SLP-05's off-board power supply with its rectifier tube is the icing on the cake.
Gryphon Diablo & Dartzeel CTH-8550
Wow, six chassis. I will have to re-look the definition of 'integrated' again. :-)Enjoy.
Great single ended CD/SACD
Players that are not digitally balanced generate the balanced output from the single ended output (usually via a phase splitter) and may actually sound better single ended.+1
A dilemma: Modern sound, Musical Bliss or both?
In the finish only you can decide what is right for you, but there are some general guidelines which can sometimes help.1. Make sure the loudspeaker is the right size for your room.2. Match the loudspeaker to your electronics.3. Select based on yo...
Spectron vs Parasound vs Cary vs ?
I'm a bit confused but perhaps what Audiozen is trying to say re voltage "fluctuations" is that in an unregulated power supply the voltage must drop significantly in order for the transformer to produce current. Load the amplifier further and the ...
Gryphon Diablo & Dartzeel CTH-8550
I guess then the question is whether the Dartzeel is worth the asking price? $20k is not exactly chump change, even if it has an pleasure control.
Anyone try the Vitus RI-100 with Raidho C1.1?
Yes understand. The US is unfortunate not to have Gryphon representation.I can't speak for the Raidho / Vitus pairing but my expectation would be that it is a stellar combination. Do also consider Lindemann.
Anyone try the Vitus RI-100 with Raidho C1.1?
Hi Dracule,To be sure you would need to try the pairing in your own room/system.What I can say is that I have the Raidho paired with another Danish manufacturers amplifier (Gryphon Audio) and there is good synergy. The Vitus may possibly be better...
Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Any experiences?
I auditioned the Modwright KWI-200 on two separate occasions and in the finish did not opt to purchase it.My sonic findings were posted earlier. It is not a bad integrated but it certainly is no class leader IMHO. Mechanically the build quality co...
Gryphon Diablo & Dartzeel CTH-8550
The MF is not in the same league as the above four IMHO. Neither (before anyone asks) is the Pass Labs INT-150.Another amp that is in the same league is the ASR Emitter.
Where do you go after a Dynaudio C1 ?
Raidho C-1.0 or if budget allows the new Raidho C-1.1. A very big step up from the Dyna C1 but also Danish.
Gryphon Diablo & Dartzeel CTH-8550
I’ve auditioned both the GamuT DI-150 and the Gryphon Diablo. Two quite different amplifiers in my opinion. The GamuT is characterized by stunning transparency and incredible treble extension, reproducing music with great focus, precision and impres...
