KLH model 9 electrostatic Speakers
Many manufacturers makes C7 power cords. Wireworld, Cullen, Pangea to name a few. I would check those out and see if you find anything you like. Additionally some cable manufacturers like Triode Wire Labs will make custom power cables for you.
Lumin X1 dont see many virtual audiogon systems with this?
I think a lot of audiophiles probably have to dismiss it because it doesn’t have digital inputs. As great as it sounds, I could never entertain owning it because it’s limited functionality. For 14K, or whatever the current going price is, it shoul...
Sound Labs 645-8, A Review
I have a pair of M645s in my small listening room. Best speakers I have ever owned. I know you are enjoying yourself! Just an absolutely open window to the sound. Oodles of detail, yet so natural. Congrats on the purchase!
Better/best fullrange nearfield speakers?
SoundLabs, for real. I sit about six feet from my M645s and they are great. You just need space behind them. My good friend has a pair of U745s. He is also sitting about 6 feet away. Amazing sound. In your budget I think you could swing a pair of ...
Abyss AB 1266 Phi vs Focal Utopia
When I was in my headphone phase, I owned both the Abyss AB1266 and the Utopia. I don’t know how much better the PHI is. At the time I preferred the Utopia most days, but the Abyss was also excellent in its own right. Don’t know if you can go wron...
Would you buy a piece of gear with a defect?
A new JC2 BP is like 4500. If you were patient, a used one could come up at some point for 2500-3000. 1500 for a broken unit is a little high for me. You have no idea what is wrong. It could be something cheap or extremely expensive. What does Par...
Has Anybody Else Heard These?
Those little drivers seems to be hopping around in the video. I don’t know how loud he listens, but I’m not sure how they stay linear and low distortion pumping like mad.
How far over the limit can I go
I used to have a set of Manley Neoclassic 250s. Turned it on with an old set of tubes one day and BAM! Power tube went down swinging and took out a resistor. Luckily Manley sold these clip on replacements so I was able to get them replaced myself....
Pass XP12. Tame, Anemic?
I would agree, if you don’t like it at all, move on. It’s not your cup of tea. Don’t think it’s going to change enough in sound to make you like it.
Most rooms don’t need acoustical treatment.
This has to be top tier trolling. Voodoo science? The results of adding treatments is easily seen in measurements.
Pass XP22 demo vs my XP12
Go for the 22. I went up the line to the 32. Each step was progressively better, but the jump to the 22 from the 12 was much more significant.
purchasing US made speakers
I would second the Soundlab Majestic 545 suggestion depending on your room size and your amplifier. As far as I am aware, they are 100 percent made in America. The wooden frames are built by someone local to Soundlab. The panel is constructed entir...
The Battle between Stiffness And Damping Of The Speaker Enclosures!
I think it depends on the listening level highend666. If the gentleman at 6moons prefers listening to a peak level of 85DB, then of course the 8 watt should be sufficient. 105DB at the listening position with those speakers is probably a pipe dream.
Any thoughts on Pass X150.8 ?
@smodtacticalWC has a huge following on audiogon because of his monstrous amplifier thread and all the gear he has gotten to experience. You have to admire the endeavor.Whether or not his opinion on the Pass Labs .8 steers your decision would be b...
Any thoughts on Pass X150.8 ?
@smodtactical I enjoy the 350.8 very much. I have Soundlab electrostatics, so I wanted the extra juice. The 350.8 is the only amplifier I have ever had on the Soundlab speakers.
