Why do digital cables sound different? Eldartford - assuming ideal square pulses spikes/distortions will happen to every pulse, but in reality signal has jiiter all the way thru with electrical noise etc. Imagine signal with slightly different rise time from bit to bit and cable with m...
Burr Brown OPA 2143 vs NJM2068 I'm not sure about repair cost but he is offering very old op-amp not even half as good as OPA2134. I suspect he might have this amp handy. My advice is to replace it with LM4562 - much better amp than both. Be sure to replace it in both channels ...
Lie you told your wife to buy equipment? Mnnc - thank you. It is very important to have people like you here, that are the moral guidance for all of us. Keep up good work.
Wolcott Audio tube amp.what value resistor is this 1W is even better than 0.5W if you can fit it in.
Lie you told your wife to buy equipment? Emailists - I got this model long time ago when it was very attractive. Unfortunately usage became very expensive recently and I need money for new speakers so I' selling in 2 for 1 deal (I will toss in mother-in-low as a bonus).
Lie you told your wife to buy equipment? Timrhu - I can sell you (or rent) my women. Make me an offer
Wolcott Audio tube amp.what value resistor is this 39 ohm 5%. Pick one of similar size or if there is enough room get one twice larger to be safe. I would avoid inductive wirewound or carbon comp/film resistors just in case. I would still call Wolcott and would replace resistor with original one.
Lie you told your wife to buy equipment? Jimjoyce25 - The answer is very simple: Good safe sex and tasty dinners.
Lie you told your wife to buy equipment? Just word of the advice - when your wife says "Go Ahead and do it" it is a dare and NOT a permission - you don't want to do it, believe me. Also be very sensitive to words like: NOTHING, WHATEVER, THANKS A LOT.
Will new Class D trump a vintage Class A/AB? Johnnyb53 - It is difficult to compare different amps without setting price range and even then it migh be not easy. Compare 2x200W class A design to my Rowland 102 (class D) I paid $1500 for. There is no such class A amps for $1500. Class D beats...
Lie you told your wife to buy equipment? Markphd - don't be to harsh. They know their wifes might be reading.
Why do digital cables sound different? Palerider - if you cannot understand just read more. Myself, if I cannot hear the difference I modestly admit it without saying that everybody else only "THINK" they hear a difference (that would be an arogance on my part).
Tone controls- to use or not? Hibosilver - Equalization in the studio is mostly done to individual instruments before mixing. Almost everything today is recorded digitaly and equalization is done the same way (stable and easy to control digital filters) - not possible at home ...
Tone controls- to use or not? Mrtennis - I don't dictate anything - I only expressed my opinion like everybody else here. If all is subjective, in your opinion, then terms like clarity transparency etc. have no meaning and this forum has no purpose (other than chat room)I have...
Tone controls- to use or not? One more thing. Equalizers used in recording studio adjust each individual microphone/instrument BEFORE mix. They don't equalize mixed stereo image. Correct me if I'm wrong (any sound engineers here?). |
