Is there a transparent MM1 version?
Khrys,You can send in your old MM technology cables to Transparent and have them updated to MM2 technology, making them current without upgrading to the next level of cables.
Anyone know anything about the new Meridian 861 v6
go to Meridian's website and download the configure utility, it's only PC but it will allow you to configure the 861 yourself. The learning curve isn't too bad.I understand they are adding the new RJ45 connector that is on their speakers so the v6...
Which Universal Remote?
I agree with all the above, I have had Harmony remotes for years now and still run four of them in my home (659/880/890x2) They handle anything, and if they can't, they can learn to, the Harmony support is AMAZING if you need it, the only thing th...
Transparent Ref XL
Dlcockrum,I was referring to updating the cables to have the new MM2 technology, NOt upgrading the cables (which would go to Ref MM) I understand the confusion as the two sound close but are quite different.
Transparent Ref XL
Did you have your Ref XL's updated to the MM2 technology??? It does just what you are looking for and is worth the minor investment. Talk to Transparent, they can update them for you.
New Emm Labs TSD-1/Dac-2 vs DCS Puccini
Bryan,You need to call them, sound like you drive is bad, but just a guess. I have had the DAC2 require a reboot once when it weouldn't lock onto a signal, but that has been my only glitch other than my idiocracy of trying to play DVD-A discs in i...
New Emm Labs TSD-1/Dac-2 vs DCS Puccini
Bryan,I am curious what kind of problems you've had, mine works perfectly, except for when I accidentally put a DVD-A disc into the transport, which seems to play them fine but doesn't output any signal as it's not built for these.....I've only do...
New Emm Labs TSD-1/Dac-2 vs DCS Puccini
Both companies have a very different sound, to my ears the EMM Labs is more natural and smooth, sound just flows from it effortlessly, the DCS gear always seemed forced and is not to my taste. FWIW I own the TSD1/DAC2 and the combo is the best pla...
decent RF universal control system
Skip IR repeaters, they work but are a PITA, I like the Harmony 890, comes with an RF to IR relayer, so yep it works through walls, and can even control multiple RF->IR receivers for control of different rooms from one remote. It's also very ea...
Preamps w/HT BYPASS that works when preamp is OFF.
What good is it unless the unit defaults to the HT bypass when off? Otherwise you'd have to turn it on, switch to HT by[pass, then turn it off right??I ask as I am currently looking to add a solid two channel preamp to my HT and use an HT bypass, ...
Best pre-owned 2-channel amp for under $2000??
My favorite 'bargain' in amps is still the Proceed HPA-2, it's 95% of the Mark Levinson amps and can be had cheap, well below the $1,500 mark.
Cd/sacd player for under 2K?
FWIW Esoteric makes players that don't have DVD-V as well, you'll need to research the model # but I think the SA 60 does just this.
Cd/sacd player for under 2K?
Forget Sony, you can buy an Esoteric DV-50 for less than $1,500 and it's rock solid and sounds great (will even cover DVD-A for you!)
Adding a source to my Meridian system
If you add the G98DH it will not only match the rest of your system, it will add DVD-A, DVD-V, and CD and with the coms cable will run off the same remote. Great transport, I used mine with an 861v4 and it sounded great.....Shameless plug here, I ...
