Are your speakers designed for your listening taste and hearing ability?
custom tuning is the answer.
Are your speakers designed for your listening taste and hearing ability?
Given that there are hundreds of speaker companies, there will be hundreds of different approaches. Some will tune their speakers to sound good to their ears while others will guess what audiophiles want and try to tune accordingly. I think the ke...
How many speaker companies?
Fortunately there are no qualifications required to be a speaker designer so the only limits are imagination and desire. which is the problem with the speaker industry. There are simply too many bad speakers out there. Its too inclusive. We need a...
How many speaker companies?
Unfortunately there are no qualifications required to be a speaker designer so theres no limit to how many speaker companies there can be.
Can you tell me why I didn't like the Reference 3a MM's?
The reason the op doesnt like what hes hearing is the lack of custom tuning. Get your crossovers custom tuned and be happy. Why buy another speaker when all it needs is retuning?
Dali Rubicon 8 - The Listener Matters
why not just get yourself an EQ then you could retune then flat or however you like?
Resistors
Once you get to 5% you might pick up a difference as it can get as high as 10 % between the two which is certainly audible. which would explain what people are hearing. Just differences in value.
Resistors
What this proves:1. Auditory memory is a lot longer than some people think; and2. Parts quality makes a lot more difference than some would have you believe.you forgot 3. it could be imaginary.
Resistors
aural acuity is not the issue. The issue is lack of evidence. If you were blindfolded, could you identify which resistor was which 100% of the time?
Resistors
The difference can only be heard if the values are different. What value are you using?
What creates the effortlessness in sound reproduction?
effortless can mean different things to people. The only way to find out the answer is to become involved in speaker design. There are no shortcuts.
Wide baffle speakers are better than narrow
I’m saying that wide baffle speakers sound better and tend to behave more independently of the room they are put in when it comes to clarity at the listening location, and perception of detail and recording acoustics. Is there any evidence that wid...
There's a lot more bass in a 6.5" driver than most of you think
I used a DIY speaker as my example, otherwise many would accuse me of shilling for a particular brandyou used your own DIY designs. And all the effort youve spent making that response curve as flat as a pancake has been a waste because that was t...

trolling?

It's also worth mentioning that all the bass response and crossover simulation is done on a computer. So there's no effort required by the so called designer. The software does it all for you.
