A vote for the little guy suppliers
I bought my Merlin TSM BME's from Rich Brkich at Signature Sound last year. He basically built an all new Merlin up to the latest (and last) edition for me using an older Merlin cabinet but with all new components and built to Bobby Palkovich's sp...
Getting into tubes
I emailed Mark from Linear Tube Audio and asked about the possibility of pairing the Merlins with the ZOTL40 and this is what he had to say:"I only know one guy with Merlins, David Berning. He has his own custom sub.The ZOTL40 drives them nicely. ...

@atmasphere Your amps look incredible. Love the video on your home page. Now that’s point to point wiring! Are you referring to the S-30 amp? The only issue may be how much heat it produces. I see it draws 400 watts and assuming much of that gets ...

Thanks for all the responses so far and lots of great advice and feedback. Lots to consider.@lancelock I have to admit, I am getting very intrigued by the LTA offerings. Definitely going to look into them more, more so with the sale going on for t...
Getting into tubes
Thanks for the responses!@kalali Great point and one I've thought about. I've tried to experiment without using any remote, not as much of a pain as I thought it would be, but still would be nice to have the option of the remote.@lancelock Looked ...
Spectral SDR-3000
gpgr4blu, did you receive your Spectral cdp yet? Very curious on your impressions.
Spectral SDR-3000
Thank you for the info George. I did call Spectral prior to purchasing this unit and they provide servicing for it as well as all their legacy products. That's one reason I went ahead and bought it. Nice to know they support their products no matt...
Spectral SDR-3000
I was able to locate and buy an SDR-3000. Took me a while to find one for sale. Its an SDR-3000SL which apparently has an upgraded power supply. Received the unit yesterday and hooked it up to my system. Sounds fantastic and everything that I imag...

Transport needed for Mark Levinson No. 36
I second the ML 37. If its in your budget, the 37 will enhance the capabilites of your 36. Good luck!
Rowland vs Simaudio
I had the chance to demo both Rowland and Simaudio integrated amps a while ago and from what I remember, the Rowland gear was absolutely top notch. Simaudio sounded good and is a great choice but to my ears the Rowland amp sounded better. Bottom l...
General opinion about ADCOM amplifiers
My first amp was an Adcom 535 Mk. II which I have since given to my brother to use. However I feel that it is still an awesome value. It has never given me one once of trouble in the 10 years that I've owned it. The sound is a little on the harsh ...
Are the performance of separates worth the price?
I would have to agree with the above post, especially concerning the Jeff Rowland integrated amp. I have heard it, and it comes very, very close to the performance of the JR separates. However, if you have one source such as a CD player that can p...
suggestions for top quality CDP running direct
Try a Mark Levinson 390S. I just purchased one and am quite pleased. I also heard the Wadia 301 (now in its 302 version) and that is a great sounding player also. They both can run amps direct.
Do You Remember Your First CD Player?
My first cd player was a Sony X202ES which I bought in 1994. I still have the player and it has not given me one once of trouble. Of course I've upgraded since then but it still is a great player.
