Cerious cables - Proper setup and run in time >>If you don't care, what is an "Audio Engineer"?<<The guy who plays the music on Amtrak.
Audio Aero Prima 24/192 Mk II cd player...... Grannyring I suspect it is your other components, not the Prima, that sound forward. In and of itself the Prima is not a forward sounding cd player. If anything it has a reticent, relaxed, or laid back presentation. To close, in a well designed sy...
Cream at Madison Square Garden I stand corrected then. Sorry. Wow $370. Count me out.
Music Hall MMF-5: laid back sound? Funny stuff stefan LOL!!!!!
PF "Obscured by Clouds":how good is Japanese lp? Honestly I don't know either. The reason I know ours is any early pressing is my husband bought it on release in 1972. Maybe somebody else can jump in here.
Music Hall MMF-5: laid back sound? Dan, No, only the bone stock 250 and 300. I have not heard any of the modded versions. Thanks.
Best 10K Speaker You can find speakers that are much more musical and less power hungry than the B&W 802D for under 10K. Check out a used pair of Vandersteen 5A, Eggleston Andras as mentioned, Von Schweikert, Silverlines, Kharmas, etc. etc. Lastly B&W almo...
PF "Obscured by Clouds":how good is Japanese lp? We have both. If the US version is an early pressing and in great condition as you say, buy it. The extra $30 is better spent on other vinyl.
Cream at Madison Square Garden I'm not sure placing the blame on the band is appropriate here. They probably have little, if any, to do with the ticket pick up requirements.
B & W speaker upgrade suggestions Look for speakers that don't require gobs of power and also sound like music. Not something arid, cold, and lacking dynamics. In other words, stay away from B&W and look at Proac, Verity, Silverline, Tyler, JM Lab, Kharma, Von Schweikert, Vand...
Music Hall MMF-5: laid back sound? Having the best system and having a good ear are 2 different issues. He doesn't like Zyx cartridges either. I disagree with him.The fact of the matter is that Rega arms, the 900 nothwithstanding, have very poor bearing design and consequently will...
Music Hall MMF-5: laid back sound? Not a resonance issue only the trackability of the MMF-5 tonearm. Don't believe me if you wish; ask around. BTW 16Hz is high not fine. It would be serviceable in the Rega 900 but the 250 and 300 are entry level tonearms; the 103 is not an entry le...
Music Hall MMF-5: laid back sound? Unfortunately the Denon 103 will not even come close to reaching its' potential with the MMF-5 tonearm. Bad investment.
Cream at Madison Square Garden McCartney can still sing but his range is much smaller. Dylan's voice has degraded appreciably. Jagger, well forget him. He never had any range to begin with. Clapton, unlike Bruce, had a lot less range to lose. Parts tend to wear over 37 years.
Think I'm going to try tubes... I wouldn't use any of those amps with the 1.8 given the low impedance and low efficiency. IMO, I think you'll be disappointed with all of them especially in their inability to control the bottom end. My $.02; others may think differently. |
