Silver vs. Cooper speakers cables >>There's no reason for a silver speaker cable to sound different from copper or gold, etc.<<Wrong
Best female vocals on CD Mary Black
B&W JM Labs or Paradigm Signature S8.....Help? With few exceptions B&W are dry, sterile, and boring speakers lacking musicality in the midrange. Stay away. The Von Schweikert recommendation is excellent. Tons of performance for the money and they will embarrass the 803D.
What's your favorite Audiophile label, and why? Chesky
Silver vs. Cooper speakers cables I feel that not enough attention is paid to aluminum.Good point. I stopped buying soda pop in those copper and silver cans years ago. The copper poured too slow and the silver poured too fast. Aluminum gave me just the right balance.
VPI Scoutmaster or Nottingham Space Deck...? Readster, The Ace Space tonearm is quieter and tracks better than the JMW-9 which is flawed by design. The lack of anti-skating adjustment, despite Harry's protestations, prevents the arm from tracking properly. For grins and giggles, try a JMW-9 ...

PMC speakers vs B&W... has anyone compared? Dry to me means not having a "musical" or "organic" character. Dry, lean, analytical, call it what you want but they do not convey music in a manner I find pleasing. I experience listener fatigue very quickly with B&W speakers. There are much ...
PMC speakers vs B&W... has anyone compared? I agree with Brizonbiovizier. Most B&W speakers are slow, ponderous, and dry (an owner's way of saying precise I guess). It amazes me they have the following given the number of other choices. To each her own I suppose.
Oracle Delphi MarkII or Music Hall7? Which one? Go with the Oracle. Music Hall is at best mid-fi hi-fi. It's a decent start but no more. The Project 9 tonearm extremely limits your cartridge choice.
Wilson Audio, Talon, Rockport and B&W >>There is nothing for me to gain in this post. None of the speakers mentioned are lines I carry.<<Not true. By the simple dismissals of Rockport speakers (prior Rockport owners, more lifelike, overall more enjoyable, sound rubbery) yo... |
