Thoughts on mating ML ESL 11 A's to a butler TDB 2250 hybrid amp
I would personally steer away from tube amplifiers with ML.  While I'm sure those Manley monos are very nice, they explicitly state the optimum speaker impedance is 5 ohm and the output impedance is 0.538 ohm.  The ML panels are very capacitive an...
Can anyone hear the difference when you add REL subwoofers when playing two channel
I had a two channel system with Magnepan MG12s  I added a single REL sub and you could most certainly hear the difference.  Of course the MG12s don't have much below about 45 Hz, so in my opinion a sub was mandatory.  It took me awhile to get that...
Parasound service problems
Just to add my experience, a while back my P3 preamp failed.  Parasound replaced it with a new unit.  The new one ran with no issues for several years before I retired it.
Doing the Power Cord Thing
Erik,Is it possible to show your finished cable?
Carver M1.5t vs. Krell or ML
Off topic, but what year is your 911?
Yamaha integrated amp as3000 vs Pass integrated
I owned a Yamaha integrated back in the day and a receiver as well.  The receiver was just ok, but the integrated was quite nice, including the overall build quality.  I have not seen the new AS3000, but from the pictures it looks quite stunning. ...
How Good Is The DAC in An Opportunity UDP-205?
I have one and I like it.  I bought mine when they were still in production for a slight discount over retail.  My main motivation was to consolidate 3 components (CD, Blu-ray and DAC) into a single component.  Not sure I would pay $3k for one tho...
Martin Logan electrostatic speakers, How do you know if the panels are good?
I believe the panel reliability issue was due to the film coating process on older models.  Summit uses the same panel as Summit X and has the newer electrodeposition process.  There have been other improvements in later models, but I think panel ...
Thinking about buying new speakers....the Elac Uni Fi5 towers or the Klipsch hersery lll
Another vote for Klipsch Forte or Quartet.  They both will have pretty decent bass and that signature Klipsch sound.  I owned Quartet personally, and while they ended up not being my personal cup of tea, if you are looking for the things that they...
Integrated amplifier search
s7horton, interesting choice with that Micromega.  Do you notice any fan noise?
A Shockingly Straightforward Query
an10490413, for what its worth, I use Pass Labs amplification with my Montis (INT-150).  I'm sure many others will work as well.
Looking for great tube integrated for Martin Logan Summit X speakers
smills59...if you decide to go w/ the Sanders ESL, I am getting ready to sell a Parasound P3 pre.  It will definitely not bust your budget.
Looking for great tube integrated for Martin Logan Summit X speakers
Waiting to hear an update on this.  There have been a few similar threads recently on tubs vs SS for Martin Logan.  I am in the SS camp but admit I have not tried tubes with the MLs.  Also smills59, what speaker cables are you using?
A Shockingly Straightforward Query
I have personally owned a few Carver amplifiers but not his latest tube efforts.  I am also a current Martin Logan (Montis, which was replaced in the line up by your 11As, so very similar) owner.  I think you need to be very careful pairing a tube...
Pass Labs AMP’s- What is the best Pass Amp Sound for You from past 10 years
Only owned and listened to one, Pass INT-150, which is my current amp.  Did own the Pass designed Adcom GFA-5802 (2 of them in a bi-amp system driving Infinity IRS Gammas).  I owned them a few years apart and drastically different speakers, so I c...
