My 1976 Recordings That's awesome. Thanks.
Best PC to use as a Server I asked this myself in late 2016 https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/looking-for-laptop-windows-10-for-music-only Folks recommended Eluktronics as a laptop and they seemed like a good choice as the mfg says they are loaded with basic Windows an...
Best CD lens cleaner I use one on my home CD player whenever it acts wonky or has playing issues. Fixes it right up. Why would you not want to use one? Similar to a cleaning a camera lens. I use the Maxell version with the small brush.-John
What Matters and What is Nonsense Well I'm in deep do-do, cuz my amp & preamp cost 10K and my Infinity Ren 90's $1500. Drat the luck.-John
Pass labs X250.5 cracking noise From my Krell owners manual: "When powering on any system, turn on amplifiers last. Turn off amplifiers first. "I made the mistake of turning off the pre-amp first once & the sound that came out of the speakers was not pretty. Scared the heck...
RECORDS THAT HAVE IMPRESSED PEOPLE SO MUCH THEY BOUGHT MY STEREO Shadorne: I heard the live acoustic version of "Keith..." on Radio Paradise a couple weeks ago while driving and it is freakin' awesome. Thanks for reminding me. Off to Tidal I go to play it at home. Thanks for reminding my geriatric ass about i...
Real World Records 1/2 speed Remasters Also curious as to the quality of the new vinyl. My original vinyl copies are atrocious. Probably some of the worst mfg. processed LP's I own. I would listen on Tidal instead, but I don't believe his LP's are on there to play.-John
Infinity Renaissance 90 I have to 2nd your observation. Bought mine around 2000 and then a spare pair of EMIT's from Infinity just in case, then a spare pair of 90's just in case. Only thing I have done is replace the foam in the rear port and wax them a few times. Po...
Anybody watch the Grammys tonight? Not that fond of the show either. But if it's any consolation, most if not all of the political snivelers on the show pay 39.6% federal income tax. That in itself makes me feel better. -John
Infinity IRS Beta Room Requirements I bet you dig the heck out of the Betas. They will be super fun to own, play with and listen to. I've have Infinity Renaissance 90's for years and they just awesome. Enjoy, John
Sansui 9090db powers up but no sound I have a Sansui 8080 and the answer about the jumpers is brilliant. The 9090db & 8080 are extremely similar. One thing that happened to mine is the selector switch for inputs had issues a few times. We are talking 30+ years ago, but I belie...
RIP Arnie Nudell By the sound of my Renaissance 90's the man and his crew put their heart and soul into their work. Not only design and build great products, but actually test each unit to ensure it performed as designed. You will see crossovers with different ca...
Duelund 16g Speaker Wire Question I bought the same wire a few months back after using Monster 2.4s (I think that's the callout) for a dozen years. The Monster has hunkin' momma wire size. Looks like #8 or so. I had no issues with it, but as you know we all want to spend some m...
Has anyone made the jump to $uper High end and were disappointed? I like Randy's idea. Put on top of 1/2 dome in Yosemite. Now that, would be the ultimate high end. -John
