Townshend platform under digital component or amplifier ?
Townsend Seismic Speaker Platforms had a very noticeable improvement in all SQ attributes.  Excellent build quality.  I do not use their component platforms.  I am sure the technology will produce similar results.  I use Symposium Svelte Shelves i...
A quick question on what streamers to consider.......
Go with Aurender.  Excellent sound and build quality.  Helpful customer service. Go with a new N150 or a preowned N200.  I just upgraded from an old N100H to a pre-owned N200.  Just arrived today exactly as described.  Reasonable pricing and trade...
Krell Service - speakers buzzing
I agree with @mlsstl.   Borrow another preamp and see if the problem goes away.  I was a fan of old Krell myself.  They need recapping every 7 to 10 years or sooner depending upon use. Regardless of your problem, if  you never recapped it, have it...
Power cable Advice...
I may have misspoke.  Seems like the 40% off ended.  Guess I was lucky.  Here is there current web page advertisement.  Seems a little confusing.  I would still callAlex (proprietor) at the phone listed on the web page.  He will be very helpful.  ...
Power cable Advice...
I use WyWires Platinum with excellent success.  There is currently a 40% off sale.  The Diamond is better but you will need to find pre-owned in your budget.  See reviews such as …   https://www.dagogo.com/wywires-platinum-juice-ii-power-cords-...
recommend PRAT Integrated amplifiers (not Naim)
There are many good recommendations from other members.  If you are looking for PRAT as well as liquidity, clarity, staging/imaging, and a  light touch of “tube-like” warmth I recommend a per-owned Burmester 082.  There is one on AG just under $10...
vibration control - cd player
I also have equipment hidden in a Drexel Heritage wall unit achieve a low WAF.  Together with suspended floors it is not optimal with regard to vibration.   However, while expensive, I have had much success and improved SQ with judicious attention...
Upgrading from a VPI Aries 1- is it worth it?
I support the following recommendations from other members as follows:    1:  Stick with the Aries.  It is a wonderful sounding product.  2:  Go with a gimbal rather than knife edge bearing tone arm.  3:  If wall bracing is not possible, try Sympo...
question of soundstage
I will preface my response by saying I am not an audio engineer and do not have experience with your equipment.  I will present my experience in the pursuit of sound stage as it relates to electronics.  Another preface is that the speakers, room, ...
Best Circa 90's CDP
To all recommending or looking to purchase  90’s  Linn models I encourage you to verify the laser can be replaced.  Yes, Linn CD players were some of the best. However, I had (note past tense) an $11k Linn Unidisc 1.1.  Wonderful sounding unit unt...
Smaller plug-in AC Purifiers -- Shunyata, iFi, Puron...something else? What do you like?
IMHO go with a used Audience Adept Response AR2/AR6 or a Shunyata Hydra rather than multiple single outlet plug-ins.  I have seen Hydras as low as $400 - $800 on the used market.
Yes, cables do make a difference -- regardless of price...
The right cables and cords designed with SQ in your wheelhouse and matched to your system can be transformative.  Read reviews but most important audition and burn in before final judgement.  Let your ears decide which brand is best.  I am sure yo...
Cable Break In for the Naysayers
Excellent observations on break in of your new AQ T XLRs.  About a year ago i upgraded to WyWires Platinum full loom (XLR interconnects, USB, Power Cords).  For budgeting, each type was purchased, 1 type a month over 3 months.  SQ of each type imp...
Luxman leaves me wanting
I am not a tube guy so I cannot offer much assistance other than referring you to the article below where the reviewer indicates a synergy between your DeVores and the LTA you are looking at …and to offer that in my experience the environment im...
Why do I prefer R2R over Chip based DAC's?
I am late to the game but will give my MHO in responding to your 3 questions: 1:  Why do I prefer R2R based DACs to chip based DACs? - as I have posted before it is not the processor technology but the execution of the designers intent that matte...
