Alot of preamp questions Another to add to the list is the FT Audio Little Wonder ... a passive linestage that lists for @ $500 new. Hard to beat for the $$$. Should work well with the Sunfire. The Audible Illusions is a very good preamp but if you don't need a phono stag...

ute-friendly speakers? Carolina Audio JTM's ($1750 new) can be placed against a wall with minor compromise in sound ... no grills available but the Jordan JX92 driver is high enough off the floor.www.carolinaaudio.comAlso, Gradient Revolutions can be configured via ther...
Proac response 1sc Do I have enough amp? I used a pair of 1sc's in a 14' x 10' x 7.5' room with a Cary 300SEI (8w/ch) and had GREAT results ... 60w of tube power should be plenty for the 1sc even in a large room.
SS Int Amps: Bryston, Simaudio & Magnum-Dynalab I believe the warranty on Sim Audio Moon series components is transferable but with half the total period to the subsequent owners (ie 5yrs or less depending on the age) ... check with Sim to be sure. The I5 and the MD308 are both exceptional pieces.
Spica TC 50 Question s Spica made a subwoofer to match the TC50's ... VERY difficult to find (only used of course), but may be worth the effort. Check www.audioasylum.com ; someone there recently purchased a pair of these subs and has been having trouble setting them up...
plinius sa100III v pass x150 If you are buying used and have the funds, buy both and compare in your own home ... sell the one you like less. Best of both worlds, used pricing and an unlimited home audition.

MERLIN OWNERS: Need Suggestions on Amps/Preamps Exhibited with Sim Audio amps/pres at the HiFi 2002 show and was very welll received. Sim also makes some 5ch gear and HT processor. Worth an audition.
Anybody considerered Merlins? Check out the Audio Asylum and search in the speaker section (www.audioasylum.com) ... tons of opinions on the Merlins there. I will say that nearly all are positive, especially in regard to the VSM model.
Best sounding integrated made........is? Pathos Twin Towers (or whatever they have changed the name to) .... probably the most sucessful hybrid (tube/ss) on the market. Sounds as good as it looks, but with only 30w/ch it will not drive all speakers.
CD Players which connect direct to Amp? Be careful with some of the recommendations if you are looking for a player with an ANALOG volume control (which is how I read your original post) ... some of the players mentioned (especially the Wadia's) adjust volume in the digital domain. Not ...

Speaker Options Dunlavy loudspeakers and Rowland electronics make a very synergistic combo. Just keep in mind that with the Signature series of Dunlavy speakers you must be able to sit at least 10ft away from the speakers for the drivers to "mesh".Jeff
