Should I upgrade my phono linestage first or the tonearm for better results?
arrowav8r,I think you made a good decision with your phono stage upgrade. I will be interested to hear your thoughts on the comparison.
Tube Phono Stage or Tube Integrated- help!
There are very few all tube phono stages. Most phono stages designed to work with moving coil cartridges use a step up transformer of FET (solid state) front end for the first gain stage.A few of the all tube phono stages are Aesthetix Rhea, Aesth...
Proac D48R
Thanks sense 63. I appreciate the comment on my system. If your room and budget work with the size and cost of the D-48r that would be my choice. The D-48r will have more bass extension and play louder than the D-30r due to the additional woofer an...
Proac D48R
Sense63, take a look at my room. I have the D-40r speakers in a 11x17 room with 10 ft ceilings. They work fine in that size of room.

Michell should be if they are the single pillar. The Graham Robin should also work and Origin Live. I bought a NOS Vector 3 a few years ago for about $1,300, so if you can stretch your budget a little and watch used ads you might be able to get a ...
Proac D48R
I have heard the Sugden Masterclass IA-4 Integrated Amplifier with my Proac D-40r speakers (very similar to your D-48 speakers) and was very impressed with the results. It is in your price range new, with a minor discount, and is a real consider...

All Rega single pillar arms are drop in replacements, along with Michell arms. The best choice would be a Basis Vector arm. There are others using the Rega platform that would also work. The difference between the Vector and another Rega is stunni...

What happened to the "club atmosphere" of Audiogon?
I understand what you mean. The anonymity of the internet allows people to disregard common courtesy. Audiogon is still OK, but not what it once was. Now on Sundays I go to my local Hi Fi shop (yes they still exist and should be supported) to chat...
Synergistic Grounding Block and Tweaking it.
Granite Audio makes a similar product as well. You might want to look at it.
Proac Response 2.5 /Proac Response D15 suitable amps??
I looked up your Jadis and it appears to put out 40 wpc. The Proac 2.5 has very low powerful bass for a small floorstanding speaker, but the trade off is that it is not very efficient. I owned a pair and thought they were a very nice speaker. I am...
Michell Gyro SE + SME IV upgrade path
I have a SME 10A and a Michell Gyrodec with Origin Live OL-1 arm and a new power supply.I also have a Garrard 301. My recommendation is to try a Garrard 301/401. You should be able to do that with a new plinth and tonearm for under $10K.Another th...
Quicksilver Mono 120 vs. Quicksilver V4
I have Quicksilver V-4 amps and they sound great with all speakers I have used with them. They run cool for tube amps, and it is easy to adjust bias, which I check occasionally and does not usually require adjustment. I have not heard the Mono 120...
